The McKinley Chalet Resort resides a mere two miles from the entrance of Denali National Park along the Parks Highway just across the Nenana River. The relaxing getaway is open seasonally from mid-May to mid-September. The property consists of two sections. The upper section includes the main lodge and lodging buildings. The lower section also includes lodging buildings as well as the Denali Square social hub. The McKinley Chalet Resort offers 582 rooms in nearly 30 lodging buildings spread out in the upper and lower section of the property. The Alaskan inspired rooms come with one or two beds and sleep a maximum of two to four people. Views of Denali National Park and the Nenana River can be enjoyed from most rooms and throughout the property.

When not exploring Denali National Park or indulging in the plentiful activities around the park, guests of the McKinley Chalet Resort will be able to experience all that the resort has to offer. The property has multiple settings to eat meals or grab an expresso or drink, including the Canyon Steakhouse, Grizzly Grind, Karstens Public House restaurant, and the Gold Nugget Salon (a bar and dinner theater playhouse). The lower section of the resort is home to Denali Square. This recent addition is the social hub of the resort and features fire circles for guests and daily live performances and presentations. Gift shops can be sifted through at both the main lodge at the upper section and the Denali Square at the lower section. The property also hosts a walking trail near the Nenana River for the enjoyment of guests. Guest services abound at the resort as staff can coordinate numerous tours and activities for guests.
