This trip is a quintessential Alaskan adventure providing an all encompassing experience beginning with the beautiful waters of the bay and an ocean view perspective looking up at the majestic fjords! During your cruise through the bay keep your eye out for harbor seals, sea otters, sea lions, bald eagles and more!

Once you make dock along the rocky beach where the Apline trailhead is located, you will quickly begin your ascent through a lovely forest of spruce trees covered in beautiful green moss and hosting a variety of unique wildlife.

Eventually you will climb above the treeline where the world opens up to a vista of unprecedented beauty as you peer out over Resurrection Bay and all the way to the open Gulf of Alaska!

From there you can continue even higher up the mountainside where weather permitting you gan grab glimpses of the Harding Icefield and it’s glaciers tucked into the vast wilderness on the far side of the bay!

Your hike includes a wealth of information and insights from your knowledgeable local guide and an intriguing education about Alaska’s changing climate. You will also receive complimentary hiking poles, a day hiking pack (if needed) transportation from the downtown Seward-based office, and organic snacks & hot drinks.

Things you should bring along for your hike include; warm synthetic layers, warm wool socks, hiking boots or sneakers, a day hiking pack if you have one (if not one can be supplied for you for use on the hike), rain gear (can be rented from shop in needed) a refillable water bottle, camera and of course a positive attitude!

There is one tour offered each day:
Full day hike/tour: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Age requirements:Anyone age 9 and over is welcome
Difficulty level:Strenuous
This is a strenuous hike of around 6 miles round trip. There is about 1,600 feet of elevation gain. The hike covers unstable, uneven, and steep terrain.

Full amount is due at booking.

Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to the trip are allowed minus $10 per person. 15-30 days prior to the trip 20% of total will be charged. 7-15 days prior to the trip 50% of total will be charged. Within 7 days of the trip 100% of total will be charged.
