This one-of-a-kind tour provides an intimate glimpse into the day-to-day-training habits of professional sled racing athletes, both human and canine. Each tour is kept intentionally small so that you can get a real feel for the close bond that each musher has with his/her team of dogs! These tours are run by kennel owners and Iditarod athletes and provide a unique experience unlike any other! The smaller tours also give you more time to interact with the dogs, learn and ask questions, and of course snuggle and cuddle the husky puppies!

These tours differ from many of the other mushing experiences in Alaska, as these tours are part of the actual summer training program for these dogs and you will get a real feel for the close bond between the human and canine athletes, and experience the remarkable attention to detail that these dogs display as they listen for and respond to commands in their daily training exercises.

This is a small family-owned operation and 90% of the tours are performed by the kennel owners and athletes.

Sled dogs are cold weather animals. Although extremely uncommon, we occasionally have temperatures that make running dogs not in our dogs best interest. In these instances we will alert you at the start of your tour and do a shortened version with the opportunity to come back later in the day, after it has cooled off or early the next morning. The well being of our canine family is extremely important to us.

Sunglasses, sunscreen, jacket and sneakers or boots are recommended. A rain coat is a nice piece of gear to have when petting dirty dogs!

All tours are appropriate for all ages. Infants 24 months and under ride free. A complimentary shuttle system is offered for those without vehicles within Seward.
