The Discover Denali National Park tour departs from Lake Hood seaplane base in Anchorage. From there your flight pattern will head north over Cook Inlet and then continue north along the rugged spine of the Alaska Range. Keep your eyes out for Beluga whales and other marine wildlife in the inlet, and watch for moose, Dall sheep, bears and more during the rest of your flight.

This trip provides a nice overview of Denali National Park with an emphasis on the ‘star of the show’ 20,310 ft. Mount Denali itself. Your tour will include a close pass by the impressive peak, as well as close-up views of Tokositna and Ruth glaciers, the Great Gorge and a stop off for unbeatable photo opportunities on a glacier, and a wilderness lake along the way!

This is one of the most popular tours available in the Anchorage area.

Alaska’s weather can change dramatically. A sunny and warm day in Anchorage can turn windy, rainy and cold in the National Park. Please dress appropriately. This includes layering your clothing, wearing comfortable shoes, and bringing rain gear. The lodges and areas that you will be flying to are in a remote area accessible only by plane so many of the common comforts such as flush toilets and running water are not available. Please be aware that medical care is not readily available. Views of pristine wilderness compensate for leaving “civilization” behind. You should bring essential medications with you and not plan plane connections on the same day of this trip. Additionally, if visiting this area is extremely important to you, please allow time in your schedule for possible rescheduling of this trip. This tour flies through areas of variable weather and does sometimes cancel due to current weather conditions.
