Zion National Park, in Southern Utah, portrays the type of beauty that is completely unique and unexpected until you see the first glimpses of the breathtaking and stunningly beautiful compellation of nature's extreme forces and natural evolution that have created perfection in the heart of Utah's Color Country.
The best way to view this magnificent scenery is by Shuttle Bus. As private vehicles are not allowed (from early April to October) on Zion Canyon Scenic Drive the park provides a free shuttle bus for visitors. The shuttles operate in two loops, one making six stops in the town of Springdale and the other making eight stops at points of interest in the park. Round trip takes a minimum of 90 minutes. Schedules depend on which loop you take but buses run from 5:30 a.m. to about 11 p.m. Each bus is fully accessible and can carry two bicycles. There is room onboard for packs, coolers, and strollers.
The Shuttle runs during the peak season early April through October during these months private vehicles are not allowed. All other parts of the park are open to private vehicles. As is common in most national parks, for the safety of your pet and the native wildlife pets (except for service animals) are not allowed inside the bus or the park.
