Grand Teton National Park - Wyoming

Located in northwestern Wyoming just eight miles from Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park is 310,000 acres of protected recreational land. Read more...

The park includes all the major peaks of the 40-mile-long Teton Range and much of the valley known as Jackson Hole. Evidence has shown that humans have lived in the area up to at least 11,000 years ago, and some rocks in the park are the oldest found in any United States national park, dating back 2.7 billion years. Grand Teton National Park has been a United States national park since 1929.

Visitors come from all over the country to enjoy mountaineering, biking, hiking, fishing, horseback riding and other kinds of recreation. More than 200 miles of hiking trails make for great experiences in this beautiful part of the world. People from all over often come to the park for some of the best trout fishing in the world, in part because it is one of the few places to catch Snake River fine-spotted cutthroat trout. In the winter, visitors can forge their own cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails, with the stunning Teton Mountains as their backdrop.
