Located at 3,510 feet above sea level Big Meadows Lodge offers perfect views of the picturesque surroundings that have drawn visitors to Shenandoah National Park for generations. The original lodge was built in the late 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps. private contractors, and mountain labor using stones cut from Massanutten Mountain, making this resort not only a relaxing getaway but also a historic novelty. 

Big Meadows Lodge is surrounded by grassy meadows where deer and other wildlife like to graze on the wild berries and lush vegetation. Even today, wildlife frequents the area particularly in the early morning or late evening hours when the crowds and the temperatures are down. You won’t want to forget your camera to capture the wonders that abound here.

 

Big Meadows Lodge offers a variety of lodging options ranging from Rustic Cabins to lodge rooms and suites. The resort offers 25 rooms in the main lodge and an additional 72 rooms in the rustic cabins, multiunit lodges, and modern suites. The entire interior structure of the lodge, including the paneling is made entirely from native oak and chestnut. With warm interiors and friendly staff you will feel right at home at Big Meadows Lodge.

Park Entrance Fees and Parking
You'll need to purchase an entrance permit, valid for seven consecutive days, upon entering the park. $15.00 per private vehicle - March thru December.
