Standard room at Farview Inn

Far View Lodge consists of 13 clusters of lodge buildings located 15 miles inside Mesa Verde National Park, at 8200 feet elevation. The road to the lodge is a series of switchbacks 1500 feet through lush valleys and canyons displaying spectacular views and photo opportunities of snow capped peaks and wildlife. Purposely the lodge does not have in room televisions or phones to preserve the tranquility of this natural setting. All rooms have balconies with views into three states and awesome stargazing opportunities.

Guests so enjoyed their stay at Far View Lodge that they can’t say enough good things about it:

Walking trail at Mesa Verde“My family and I stayed at the Far View Lodge from October 12-14. The room had two double beds and was clean. The bathroom was small and the shower could have been updated, but overall it was a good value. The absence of the TV and phone was a bonus, as it allowed us to enjoy the view, as well as the coyotes, deer and rabbit without distraction. The lodge buffet was simple, but delicious and affordable. There is also a dinner menu if you choose to go that route. We chose to drive to Cortez and eat at Tequila's Mexican Restaurant (which I highly recommend). It was wonderful to stay in the park and will definitely stay again next time.”

“The Far View Lodge is rustic and the views are terrific! Every room seems to have a great view and a balcony. You get your typical rustic National Park Service hotel but for the price and location - you cannot beat it. They could charge considerably more money. The trip to the top of Mesa Verde and staying at Far View will be a memorable experience. Like I said, you get your typical rustic but very comfortable, clean, great views, etc. It exceeded my expectations. Better yet, there is a dinner restaurant which was terrific. I thought, since there is no where to go, the prices for dinner would be a killer. I was dead wrong. The price/value was excellent. The food was very good, presented great, with a great staff. Even the wine was reasonably priced with a pretty good wine list. After dinner - go upstairs to the loft bar for a great evening around a fire looking over "Far View".”
