Pritchard Creek
This is where you'll start your trip if your going on the 16 mile breakfast or overnight trip. As you glide through the braided channels of this stretch, your guide will point out the nesting sites of bald eagles and great blue herons. If you're lucky, maybe you'll see a beaver or a moose browsing on the banks.
The Camp
You and your guide will see some fancy paddling to get into the eddy, or calm water, for camp. Pine Bar camp is nestled in the woods just beyond a field full of wild flowers. Enjoy a steak dinner and stories around the camp fire, then settle down on your comfortable bed for a well-earned rest. An early morning stroll to a nearby spring might be rewarded with views of deer, elk, moose, or, occasionally, a bear. After breakfast, we'll continue down the river for 8 miles of whitewater action.
West Table
This is where the whitewater trips start. Watch for osprey fishing and diving while your guides outfit you with life jackets and waterproof gear.
S-Turns
A series of 90° turns keeps the river guides as busy as the current drives the river from bank to bank.
Big Kahuna
Forget the caffeine, this one will really open your eyes! A river wide ledge forms a big curler followed by a big stopper hole in the center. In later summer, photographers will be taking pictures of you from a big rock on the left.
Lunch Counter
Famous throughout the West, Lunch Counter cracks at higher flows. "The river's biggest rapids…"
Champagne Rapids
A small turbulent rapid followed by millions of effervescent bubbles rising to the surface from the depths below. Get ready for Cottonwood rapid in the following calm water. The longest rapid and always a lot of fun, many people think that it's the best on the river.
Sheep Gulch
This is the end of the line for our whitewater adventure. We hope that you will have some great memories of your own adventure down the Snake!!
