The Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge is the only wilderness lodge residing within the Kenai Fjords National Park. Located 50 miles southwest of Seward, Alaska, and only accessible by boat, the 1,700 acre Pederson Lagoon Wildlife Sanctuary in Aialik Bay is home to the 10 acres eco-friendly Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge. The wilderness lodge, open from early June to early September, offers an inclusive rate per person that includes the marine and wildlife cruise from/to Seward, comfortable cabin accommodations, all meals, and daily guided activities.
The trip begins from Seward, Alaska, as the lodge's vessel departs for a four to five-hour journey through Kenai Fjords National Park with its magnificent coastline, mountains. glaciers, and abundant marine wildlife. When arriving at the Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge on the shores of the 1,700 acres Pederson Lagoon Wildlife Sanctuary, guests are welcomed to an elegant main lodge with a rustic feel and 16 nicely appointed cabins. The cabins are equipped with two queen beds and feature full bath amenities, on-demand heat and electricity, and sublime views of the Pederson Lagoon from the window and back deck of the cabins.
The meals at the Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge are freshly prepared and delicious. The meals are served family-style in the main lodge. Starting with a buffet breakfast in the morning, then hot soups and sandwiches for lunch (all day activities will have a packed lunch), and then an appetizer hour late in the afternoon (beer and wine are available for purchase), and finally a four-course meal to cap off the day are all included in the all-inclusive package.
Guided activities are available each day at varying time lengths and for varying energy levels. Guided activities offered include sea kayak excursions, group canoe paddles, and naturalist walks. Guests can also walk several miles on the beaches just a short distance from the lodge. Upon returning from a day of adventure and after consuming the four-course dinner, guests can enjoy conversations with others in the main lodge, enjoy a book from the natural history library, or enjoy an evening history presentation. And at any time, guests are more than welcome to relax in the rocking chairs on the deck of the main lodge and gaze at the remarkable views.
On the day of departure, after lunch, guests return to Seward by boat and have another opportunity to take in the amazing coastline and glaciers of Kenai Fjords National Park along with all the marine wildlife. For a truly unique Alaskan adventure, the Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge provides guests an exhilarating experience that will never be forgotten.
