The Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge is the only lodge on the remote Fox Island, a mere 12-mile boat ride from Seward, Alaska. The surrounding landscape at Fox Island and the abundant wildlife in Resurrection Bay make the Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge a truly remarkable setting to relax and explore. The all-inclusive rate includes the wildlife and glacier cruise transportation to/from the lodge, comfortable cabin accommodations, all delicious meals, guided kayaking, and other activities. Please note that there is a two-night minimum stay required at the Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge. The lodge is open seasonally from late May to early September.
Guests begin their adventure by departing at 12pm on a comfortable 12-mile cruise from Seward, Alaska. Upon reaching Fox Island, guests are welcomed to a dazzling main lodge and eight waterfront cabins. The cabins, with private bathrooms, sleep up to four people with one queen bed and one queen-sized sofa sleeper. With no electrical outlets, lights are powered by solar energy. Note: there is a charging station in the main lodge for guests to charge their devices. Guests can surely unwind while sitting on the small deck of their cabins enjoying the water views. The cozy main lodge consists of a guest lounge and dining area. Guests can enjoy conversation with others, delve into a book, or sip on a glass of wine (available for purchase) while taking in the views through the two-story windows facing the ocean bay. Guests can also relax in chairs on the outside deck of the main lodge.
The gourmet meals provided to guests at the Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge are certainly memorable. Guests partake not only of the innovative Alaskan cuisine but also have the opportunity for a culinary experience with the lodge's chef. The kitchen is specifically designed to give guests the space to observe and learn from the chef. During their stay at the Wilderness Lodge, guests are given the options of several guided kayaking tours around Fox Island. Half-day options in the morning and evening along with a full-day option are available to guests. Other activities include an after-dinner campfire and guided beach walks.
On the day of departure, guests leave Fox Island via the Northwest Fjord Tour. This tour is the longest tour offered by Kenai Fjords Tours and provides ample opportunity to see wildlife along the spectacular glaciated coastline of Kenai Fjords National Park. For those desiring a shorter tour back to Seward, options are available to guests instead of the all-day tour.
