Q:How about bears and bugs?
A:
Both are in fair supply. Guides will give each guest a thorough safety discussion about bears. In regard to insects, bug repellent is recommended along with tight-woven, light-colored clothing.
Q:How much luggage can be brought?
A:
Guests are asked to limit luggage to one 50lb piece of medium or large-sized luggage per person. In addition, a daypack and/or purse/camera bag can be brought per person.
Q:What are the departure and arrival times at Seward?
A:
On the day of arrival, the Lodge's vessel departs Seward at 8:00 am (7:30 am check-in). And on the day of departure, the Lodge's vessel arrives back at Seward between 5:00-5:30 pm.
Q:Are gratuities to staff expected?
A:
The staff believes that gratuites are to be deserved and not just expected. While it is always a matter of personal preference, the averages tend to be $20 to $30 per guest, per day. Please note that only cash or check is accepted for gratuities.
Q:What type of physical condition do guests need to be in?
A:
The trip is meant for guests in average physical condition. Activities are geared to match various energy levels.
