Located near the popular Escalante Canyon area of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in the town of Escalante, Utah, The Old Bailey Place allows guests to experience a restored 1890 pioneer cabin. The seasonal cabin is open from March through November and was renovated in 2017 with up-to-date amenities. However, the cozy cabin still retains its authentic appeal. The cabin, sleeping up to two people, comes with a bedroom with a queen bed, a private inside bathroom with a claw foot tub, a private outdoor shower with hot and cold water, a full kitchen, free wireless internet, and a comfortable indoor sitting area.
Outside the cabin, gardens surround the cabin. Guests can even harvest fruits and veggies for their meals if in season. The exterior also includes front and back porches to take in the surrounding landscape and some of the darkest skies in the United States.
The hosts of the cabin live on an adjoining property and are more than willing to share their local knowledge of the area, including nearby hiking trails or dining options in Escalante. They even provide complimentary daily bread and homemade bath products.
The Old Bailey Place is an ideal and unique place to stay while experiencing the wonders of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, or even as a quiet and convenient base to visit Bryce Canyon National Park (1 hour away) or Capitol Reef National Park (1.5 hours away).
