We arrived at Entrada and were greeted by the friendly staff as well as the owner. They had our information ready for us, and check-in here was the easiest I have ever experienced, and I travel a lot. Our room was beautiful and with ample room, a very large king bed, beautiful shower, and patio with a Mountain View. I can say that this level of accommodations for such a value, I have not experienced. The provided coffee was a delicious morning treat as well. I recommend this be your first and only choice.

Last minute planning resulted in us stumbling across one of Escalante's newest gems -- the Entrada Escalante Lodge. From the time Bob and Kat greeted us, and then walked us to our room, we realized their website undersold this delightful retreat! The rooms have sufficient space for spreading out, the bed and linens are quality – as well as other finishes throughout the room, and the French press coffee was just what we needed to enjoy our mornings on the back patio – savoring the surrounding views. Anyone who stops by should take a few minutes to marvel at the local artwork in the reception area. We’ve already decided our next trip will be longer, and in one of their deluxe king rooms!

The furniture, design, décor and layout made for an extremely comfortable, and calming experience getting away to the desert for the weekend. We stayed in the Single King Suite, #1, private entrance and parking. I enjoyed taking in the gorgeous view while sitting comfortably from inside at a table for 2, gazing out a large window privately facing the back of the property. Each appeared to have a lovely back deck, with chairs facing perfectly towards the sunset. Oh and The BED was perfect-- firm structure, with a cuddly-soft layer on top. And lots of pillows. The colors in the room went so perfectly with the desert landscape, a blood orange and brown decor, so it was easy to feel rustic and off-the beaten path.. not in an upscale Hilton but something more special. The bathroom and shower areas are beautifully designed with nice stone tile; very modern, with a clean fresh vibe. Great water pressure. I loved the fresh coffee, and french press/water boiler setup for coffee in the room. The fridge was spacious with a freezer, and worked very well, nice and cold! We stayed warm and cozy, and slept like a dream. AND the room was immaculately clean. We felt so private yet well taken care of in the unit, 100% undisturbed by the presence of other guests. To top things off, we enjoyed an outrageously-good, one of a kind meal at the restaurant next door, the Devil's Garden Grill. The chef does so much with flavor, and the menu was very unique! A memorable meal for sure!!! I recommend the deviled eggs, local trout, and the Prickly Devil Margarita!! Absolutely delicious. Will return to Entrada Escalante!! ** If you are thinking of traveling now... Don't hesitate! The weather was very nice on the trails-- did Calf Creek Falls with a slight chill, but VERY warm desert sun, blue sky, and a snow-free path!! <3 Chrys

We had two queen-sized comfortable beds, large room with kitchenette, and a large bathroom with a private separate toilet and sink. The main bathroom has a sink and a large shower, with 2 separate detachable shower heads and wall-mounted shampoo/conditioner/body wash pumps that were to die for (no strong scent). Lots of lighting and heating system was quiet and comfortable; a separate heater is in the bathroom. The kitchen included everything but a stove/oven. The one drawback appliance-wise was that the toaster/oven didn't work so well. The lodge has a stocked kitchen with plates, glasses, bowls, silverware, pots and pans, and utensils. The coffee mugs were a bit too big, with wide mouths that allowed our coffee to cool off too quickly; this was a small inconvenience compared to the freshly ground coffee the lodge provided at no charge each day. The one bad thing (when you are snowed in) is that the TV has bad reception and only basic channels. We could not even get CNN or the Walking Dead! And it was a smart TV (at least my wife could view her beautiful cellphone photos on the TV!). We loved the energy saving card where you can pull it out of its wall slot and it shuts off power except to the refrigerator and some other basic stuff. The setting of the lodge is quiet, the room was quiet, and its location is close to the small town of Escalante. The one drawback for me is the lack of an exercise room. My wife couldn't care less, but she did miss her quiet time in the room while I work out. Maybe our next visit will be during warmer weather and I can get out in the mornings and hike.
