A recent rockslide closed the road in Denali National Park at milepost 42 preventing all automobile travel to and from the lodge. The good news is there is still an option for guests to enjoy the lodge this season! All travel to and from the lodge this season will be via helicopter and thus the nightly rate has had to be adjusted accordingly. The cost will start at $1,650 per person per night (based on double occupancy) and travel to and from the lodge will only be available on Sundays and Wednesdays. Lodge stays during the 2022 season will require either a 3 night (Sunday to Wednesday) or 4 night (Wednesday to Sunday) stay. This will be a more exclusive experience with a maximum of 24 guests at the lodge and added activities. The lodge will be open starting on June 12 -September 11, 2022. Please CALL for availability and bookings - 855-245-1289.
Denali Backcountry Lodge is open from June 12 through September 11. As the name implies, Denali Backcountry Lodge is situated deep within Denali's rugged backcountry. Located at the end of 92 Mile Park Road in Kantishna, offering you a complete Denali Park vacation experience -- as well as surprising comfort. Most park visitors limit their visit and stay near the developed and crowded Denali park entrance.
The more adventurous take on one of the grandest drives on earth and stay inside the park. Winding through the Alaska Range, deep into the heart of Denali Park, the "Park Road" offers opportunities to see Denali's famed wildlife: Grizzlies, Caribou, Moose, Dall Sheep, Wolves, and Eagles. And, should the weather smile upon you, above all, you will be able to view Denali itself, the highest mountain peak in North America (20,320 feet).
At the very end of the Denali Park road, past Wonder Lake, you'll find a unique enclave in the park known as Kantishna. This area is home to Denali Backcountry Lodge. The Back Country Lodge in Denali National Park is an all-inclusive vacation package with your meals, most guided activities, and programs are all included in your stay! Pan for Gold, speak with a naturalist, enjoy a bus tour, enjoy morning yoga, fishing, mountain biking, and more, all part of your stay.
