The Tonglen Lake Lodge, located a mere seven miles south of the entrance of Denali National Park, is the perfect place to escape the crowds near the entrance of the Park. The seasonal lodge, open from late May to mid-September, resides one mile off the George Parks Highway 3 and provides solitude and charm for visitors to Denali. The lodge offers ten hide-away style luxury cabins tucked away in the spruce forest that can sleep a maximum of four people. The Alaskan-style heated cabins feature handcrafted log furniture and decor from area artists. In the Guest House, two suites are available that can sleep a maximum of one to eight people or one to five people. The North Suite offers three bedrooms and the South Suite offers two bedrooms. Guests also share a common area in the Guest House. The Tonglen Lake Lodge is an all-inclusive property providing three meals, afternoon tea, evening appetizers, and activities, there is a two-night minimum.
The Tonglen Lake Lodge is much more than a place to sleep. Upon returning from a day of fun excursions in the surrounding area, there are plentiful amenities and activities to enjoy at the lodge itself. The Artisan Cafe not only serves breakfast to guests but also serves wine, beer, appetizers, and sweets to guests in the evening. The Cafe is also home to an art gallery featuring many talented, local artists. Artistic experiences and specialty services (i.e. musical performances) are offered at the lodge throughout the season along with classes and workshops. Naturalist walks are also available as well as a nightly campfire circle with s' mores. The grounds of the lodge with its large lawn and outdoor theater/pavilion are ideal for relaxation or for the enjoyment of the events offered to guests. The Tonglen Lake Lodge is indeed the perfect retreat for a memorable vacation to Denali. Please note: there is no shuttle transportation provided to or from the lodge.
