Talkeetna Chalet, located just three miles south of the quintessential Alaskan town of Talkeetna and 2.5 hours from the entrance to Denali National Park, offers guests a mixture of rustic character, modern convenience, and lodge luxury. The year-round accommodation resides on five acres of Alaskan Boreal forest. Lodging consists of two suites and three cabins. The two suites, Mountain Whispers and Denali are on the first floor of the three-story home and sleep up to two people in each. Each has its own private entrance. Decorated with either an Alaskan or fishing theme, the spacious suites include a private bathroom, smart TV, free WiFi, a small refrigerator, and other appealing amenities. The two suites are not pet-friendly. NOTE: the owners occupy the second and third floors of the home. Only the first-floor suites are accessible to guests.
The three cabins on the property are tucked away from the main home in the peaceful birch and spruce Boreal forest. Two of the cabins, Birch and Spruce, are one-room cabins and sleep up to four people. The other cabin, Willow, is a larger 900-square-foot cabin and sleeps up to seven people. The Birch & Spruce cabins feature a kitchenette, while the larger Willow cabin features a full kitchen. All three cabins offer parking near the cabin, a private bathroom, a dining area, smart TV, and free WiFi. The Willow cabin also includes a main living area with tall 18-foot ceilings. Cabins are pet-friendly (fee applies).
Please note that there is no shuttle service from/to the Talkeetna Train Depot or to downtown Talkeetna. A private vehicle is essential while staying at Talkeetna Chalet. Restaurants are nearby in Talkeetna.
Whether the Talkeetna area is a destination itself or is a stop to/from Denali National Park, Talkeetna Chalet would surely be a delightful lodging option.
