The Gateway Lodge and Restaurant are located some 75 miles southeast of Fresno, CA, and about 40-miles east of Visalia, CA. Just 2,000 ft. above the San Joaquin Valley, and just .25 miles from the entrance to Sequoia National Park. This scenic area has been an excellent location for The Gateway for three-quarters of a century. Built shortly after the Generals Highway opened in 1926, the restaurant was strategically located just outside the entrance to California's first national park was meant to lure Sequoia visitors from the road and cater to their every need, from food and drink to lodging.
