Kaibab Lodge is the nearest lodge outside the north entrance of Grand Canyon National Park. Situated in the North Kaibab National Forest, the Kaibab Lodge is only five miles from the entrance of the Park and only 18 miles from the north rim of the Grand Canyon. A combination of cabins and units is available to guests including a single room, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom cabins and units. The cabin/unit options are simple accommodations and sleep from two to eight people. All come with a private bathroom, with a few also coming with a mini-fridge, microwave, sitting area, and a porch/balcony. Since the lodge is in a secluded location, there are no televisions or phones in the rooms. There is also no cell phone coverage in the region. Pet-friendly and accessible rooms are available.
At almost 9,000 feet, the Kaibab Lodge is a seasonal lodge and is open from mid-May to early-November. With the high elevation, summers are mild and delightful. The setting of the Kaibab Lodge is surely beautiful with its meadows and trees. Guests can enjoy the amenities of the main lodge when not relaxing back at their cabin/unit. The main lodge offers an on-site restaurant, registration, lounge, old stone fireplace, and gift shop. Before embarking on a day to the Canyon or when returning for the evening, the restaurant is open each morning serving breakfast and each evening serving dinner. Dinner is casual with various entrees, hot sandwiches, appetizers, desserts, drinks, beer, and wine. A children's menu is also available. For those wanting to be as close as possible to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, the Kaibab Lodge is indeed the perfect option for lodging outside the north entrance of the Park.
