Notes: Lake Tahoe is a large freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada. Lake Tahoe is a major tourist stop for Nevada and California. During the summer months outdoor recreation consists of swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, boating, skiing, golf courses, fishing. Scuba diving is very popular at the lake offering dramatic drop offs or wall dives. During the winter months outdoor recreation is home to many different ski resorts. Highways provide access to the lake year round. Q:What is the ski season beginning and ending date at Lake Tahoe?
A:It can be different per year, but typically, the Ski resorts open in the middle of November, right before or right at the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. Most of the resorts in the area close by the middle to end of the month of April, but there are a few resorts that remain open up to May.

A:The closest major airport to Lake Tahoe is the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. Visitors to the park are able to rent a car at the airport. You can expect about an hour drive to the park entrance.
Q:Are pets allowed at Lake Tahoe?

Yes, well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome on most public lands around Lake Tahoe. There are certain beaches that are for people only, please read the beach access rules to see if pets are allowed. You can not leave your pet unattended or tied up to an object. Pets must be on a leash no longer than six feet (1.8 meters). Owners must clean up after their pets.

Cellular service is very limited in Lake Tahoe it is not reliable. WiFi may be accesable at restaurants, shops, and the Zephyr Cove Resort for guests only.
