A:The terrain at Arches Park is some of the most unique terrain you will ever see characterized by high desert plateaus with unusual rock formations, including the infamous arches that the park is famous for. Arches National Park preserves over 2,000 natural sandstone arches, like the world-famous Delicate Arch.
Q:What is the climate like at Arches National Park?
A:Summer temperatures (June through September) may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Winter temperatures (December through February) often drop below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Temperatures may range 50 degrees in a 24-hour period. These temperature fluctuations occur because the region is considered a "high desert” where these temperatures are quite common.
Q:How should I dress at Arches Park?
A:Because of temperature fluctuations it is best to be prepared for wildly changing temperatures. Dress in layers so that you can comfortably go from cool mornings to warm mid-days to chilly nights.

Notes: Arches NP has over 2000 natural arches and hundreds of other beautiful and inspiring natural landscapes to visit and enjoy. The Arches Scenic Drive climbs from the floor of Moab Canyon to Devils Garden passing right through the heart of the park. This drive is a must for any visitor to the park and will easily take a half-day to see or a full day to enjoy. There is also a variety of hiking trails to explore that will lead you deeper into the parks grandeur and get you closer to many of the parks amazing geological features. There are several ranger-led hikes and various other interpretive and educational programs offered throughout the summer and fall where you can learn even more about this beautiful country. The Moab region is a hot bed for adventurists and adrenaline junkies and there is no shortage of activities and pasttimes that you can engage in, both inside the park and at the park borders. Horseback riding, rock-climbing, canyoneering, off road tours, hot air balloon rides, sky diving, B.A.S.E. Jumping and more! Everyone will be able to fill one day full of activities, and the adventurists among you will not be able to fit your activities into just one day.

Q:Is there cellular and WiFi service at Arches/Canyonlands National Park?

Cellular service is very limited in Arches National Park. Some reliable areas are Balanced Rock, Salt Valley Overlook, Panorama Point, Fiery Furnace Viewpoint, and Arches Visitor Center. Do not rely on these areas for cell service. Arches National Park does not have WiFi service. Some restaurants in Moab offer WiFi.
Cellular service is very limited in Canyonlands National Park. Little to no service is available at The Needles, on rivers, or the backcountry. Unsecure WiFi may be available at Island in the Sky and The Needles visitor centers, outages are possible. No WiFi service is available at The Maze.
Q:Are pets allowed inside of Arches National Park?

In Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park pets are not allowed on any off-trail area, hiking areas, overlooks, visitor center, or buildings. Pets are allowed in picnic areas, Cache Valley Road, and Willow Springs. You can not leave your pet unattended or tied up to an object. Pets must be on a leash no longer than six feet (1.8 meters) at all times. Owners must clean up after their pets.
