Ideally located in downtown Bar Harbor, The Primrose dwells along with the historic Mount Desert Street Corridor mere minutes from Acadia National Park. Originally constructed in 1878 with 19th-century stick style architecture, the seasonal inn offers 15 spacious rooms which have been updated with modern conveniences but yet in such a way to preserve the classic cottage charm of the historic structure. Rooms and suites have been individually decorated with custom furnishings and fine artwork. All rooms come with a spacious private bath, flat-screen smart television with Netflix capability, free wireless internet, fine linens & robes, and air conditioning. Two-room suites give added space for guests. All rooms are not pet-friendly and non-smoking. Please note that select days may require a two-night minimum stay.
Guests of the Primrose can start off the day with a complimentary full breakfast and can partake of homemade refreshments in the afternoon. Within short walking distance of The Primrose are multiple restaurants & bars, shops & galleries, and the waterfront. The shuttle stop for the free Island Explorer is also within walking distance. When not exploring Acadia National Park or downtown Bar Harbor, guests can relax on the outdoor porch or in the interior common area. For guests who desire a taste of historic Maine-cottage-style living with contemporary updates, The Primrose is a perfect choice when visiting Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.
