Q:How far to the Going To Sun Road is it from the lodge?

Approx 40 minutes south of the east side of the Going To Sun Road entrance. Glacier Park Lodge is located just outside the boundaries of Glacier National Park in the village of East Glacier Park, Montana. It is on the southeast side of Glacier National Park at the intersection of U.S. Rte 2 and MT-49. This lodge is only 20 minutes to the Two Medicine entrance of the park.

Q:How far from the Amtrak Station is this lodge located?

The East Glacier Park Amtrak Station is located right across the street from Glacier Park Lodge. Many of the early visitors of the park traveled there via the railway and Amtrak is keeping this tradition alive with their Great Northern Route stretching from Chicago to Seattle/Portland. Transfers to the nearby Amtrak Station are optional as well.
Q:Is Glacier Park Lodge inside the park?

Technically Glacier Park Lodge is outside the park. It was the first lodge to be built at the park by the Great Northern Railway and is located in the town of East Glacier, Montana, just outside the park's Two Medicine Lake entrance.
Q:Are there hiking trails nearby?

There are 12 hiking trails in the Two Medicine area of the park just a short drive from the Lodge. The trails range in difficulty from accessible shorter hikes under a mile to more strenuous trails around 8 miles with elevation gains of roughly 2,400 ft. This more secluded quieter area of the park is one of Glacier National Park's hidden gems and contains some of the best alpine views.
