Winter

In the winter time, Whitefish Mountain Resort really bursts to life with more than 90 marked trails and insane amounts of back-country bowls and tree skiing - like the legendary Hellroaring Basin.

A nice mix of terrain difficulty levels and more than 300 inches of premium powder annually make the Whitefish Mountain Resort a favorite ski destination for thousands of people every year, from all over the world.

Even non-downhill-skiers can find plenty to enjoy at Whitefish Mountain during the winter months, with hundreds of miles of Nordic trails to explore, a family-friendly snow-tubing/sledding area, sleigh rides, dog-sledding, spa services, and a wonderfully eclectic mix of shops, boutiques, restaurants, bistros and bars for you to explore and enjoy, there is definitely something to keep everybody busy and having fun.

Summer

As the temperatures rise and the winter snows melt, the Whitefish Mountain Resort springs forth with the vibrant beauty of her alternate life – that of a hiking, biking and community resort mecca.

Summer is a great time to be at the Whitefish Mountain Resort, with long lazy days and cool summer nights. A spectacular carpet of wildflowers and huckleberries burst forth from the melted snow and beam like a treasure against the azure eternity of Montana’s blissful big sky.

Whitefish Mountain Resort is open from June 20 - Sept. 3 and offers lower mountain lift rides during July on Chair 3, as well as hiking, mountain biking, mountain bungee, Walk in the Treetops, outdoor concerts, festivals, a kid's camp, and a full-service village.

During July and August, load your mountain bike on Chair 3 for access to the Big Mountain biking trails and skills park! Foot passengers are also welcome to ride the lifts during the summer, but no downloading is available. The lift is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm.
