To make Glacier more accessible to visitors Going-To-The-Sun road was built in 1932, after 11 years of construction.

Today Going-To-The-Sun road is one of the most popular drives in the country. It is a spectacular 52 mile, paved two-lane highway that bisects the park east and west. Going-To-The-Sun crosses over the continental divide and allows visitors to experience some of the most amazing scenery in North America.
