The rooms are comfortable, the wifi is fast, and they have a rooftop hot tub. Whether you are staying here or not, make sure to stop at their bar for their killer happy hour or just to say hi to Ryan and Andrew. Also, make sure to ask their front desk ladies for the local restaurant and bar recommendations!

No privacy or sleep

This hotel has zero soundproofing. You can hear EVERYthing in the rooms next to you. It’s not people being loud either. Regular talking, someone snoring, water running, toilets flushing, and worse. What is awful is then you realize that conversely everyone can hear you talking, showering or whatever your doing in your room. I’m writing this after 7 hours of having to hear what everyone else is doing in their rooms. No privacy or sleep!! I’ve stayed here twice and had the same terrible experience trying to sleep in a place w paper thin walls. Spend the xtra money and stay at the Lodge.

Disappointing - not what it used to be

We were very disappointed in our last experience at the Firebrand. We have stayed at this hotel a number of times in the past but with the extraordinary increase in hotel rate, we most definitely did not see the value. The hotel no longer provides daily cleaning – fair enough. They advised us of their change in protocol at the desk when we checked in. They said if we wanted our room cleaned to let the front desk staff know. About ½ way through our stay of 7 nights, we asked to have the room cleaned. The front desk accommodated our request and said they would advise housekeeping. Housekeeping did not keep up their end of the bargain. They did not clean the room nor did they refresh toiletries. All we received were fresh towels and the bed was made. We had advised the front desk that the room was missing a pair of flip-flops for use at the hot tub – they indicated that they would provide us with a second set but they never arrived. There is a bin that holds fresh towels by the hot tub but to our great disappointment, it was empty. It made a rather cold walk back to our room. After our first night, I stopped in at the coffee bar in the morning for a coffee and a quick bite before we headed up to the mountain to ski. The cooler was mostly empty with the only choice being a muffin or a ham and cheese croissant. If they knew the hotel was full, they seriously under ordered for their guests. After the first night, the cooler was replenished with many more options but it was disappointing to see such a limited selection on our first day. I forgot my ear buds at the hotel and asked them to send them to me. After spending over $1800 at the hotel, they charged me an additional $43 to mail my ear buds back to me. With the exception of the last 2 years when the border was closed, we had been coming to this hotel every year since it opened (sometimes twice a year). To charge me to send back my ear buds was outrageous. The Firebrand used to charge around $120 per night. Our most recent stay averaged $230 per night. I cannot justify the cost as the service/quality has deteriorated.

My wife and I stayed for three nights. The bed may have been the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. I need to know what mattress that was. It’s very clean, roomy shower, good bar, nice amenities, delicious local coffee provided for your room coffee pot and at the coffee bar on the first floor. All of the employees are very helpful. Rooftop hot tub was nice and they have soft, thick robes in your room to wear up there. We had the charcuterie board during happy hour and it was very good. There is plenty of parking at the hotel.

You won't be disappinted with the Firebrand. There are limited choices in Whitefish, and this was in my opinion a top choice. The hotel is modern, elegant in a rustic way, clean, with helpful staff. We came for a few nights to visit Glacier National Park, and it's a 45 minute drive to the west gate, but there aren't very many choices closer in.
