Not really a resort

Check in was easy and staff were pleasant. Given room 118 which is a bottom floor so you do hear people walking above you. It is nice to have the stream running right outside your door. The room was clean and spacious with fridge and microwave but the room was so dark old and smelled of smoke from the fireplace. The lighting was awful even if you had on all 5 lights in the room it still felt like a cave. Breakfast was all simple unhealthy carbs and started at 8 so we only went the first day because waiting til 8 for bad food was a waste of time and calories. Overall it is a fine place but I wouldn’t call it a resort and I probably would chose a different place unless the price was a deal.

No Basic Amenities. Not worth the Price!

Insects in the room (no resolution by management)
Intercom phone doesn't work
Light bulbs don't work (fixed after requesting)
Mold and water smell in the room since day1
Dirty patio with webs and bird nests. Can't even open the patio door. Front desk has excuses for every complaint saying sometimes it doesn't work as expected.
Feels like a Motel for a high price of $100 per day for a basic room!

NO REFUND, despite saying so on the booking information.

Almost a month later and STILL NO REFUND! Initially I called and was always told "they are working on it". Now - none of the phone #'s work. DO NOT STAY HERE

Good and Bad

Lovely balconies/patios, right on the creed. The room was large, and well appointed. BEWARE - My only complaint is the breakfast. They advertise a fabulous breakfast buffet on their website with eggs, sausage, bisquits and gravy, and all sorts of mouth watering things. In reality, what was there was some gravy (worst I've ever had) and bisquits, some cereal and make your own pancakes in a machine. Half of why I chose this hotel was for their breakfast.

Filthy and run down

Published Date: Oct, 4, 2024 Travel Date: Oct, 1, 2024 Rating: 1 My family and I stayed at the Brookside resort last night. The rooms were extremely dark and we had a light that was burned out in our room. Fireplace had ashes in it. My sister found not one, but TWO dirty washcloths hanging on the shower rod in her bathroom. There were bugs all over the room and bug splat smears on the walls . The paint on the wall in our room was chipped and scratched off . About 3 in the morning we were woken up to a loud banging noise that continued on for quite awhile. Not sure if dumpsters were being emptied but it sounded like that. There were little black flying bugs and daddy long legs all over the room. The room smelled dusty and dirty. I wouldn’t stay there again.
