We have just left Great Bear Inn after 4 wonderful nights. The accommodations are excellent. The bedroom is spacious and the queen beds were very comfortable with beautiful bedding. The bathroom is equally spacious with a great shower. The inn is less than 10 minutes from the Park Entrance and is situated near Route 2, down a country road. Bunnies and Larry are the perfect hosts. Their welcoming warmth and greetings each morning were a great pleasure. We enjoyed our breakfast with over the top pancakes and pastries. Meeting fellow travelers and sharing stories was a unexpected treat. Great Bear Inn is a little slice of paradise in a land of spectacular vistas.

We just got back from a week long visit to Glacier. We stayed 5 days at Great Bear Inn and enjoyed every minute. It is beautiful and well decorated. Our room was downstairs, very large room with patio. We sat outside every night after hiking to relax. Bunny and Larry made a great breakfast each morning. Loaned us bear spray too! The other guests were interesting to talk to and discuss what hikes we did each day. The quiet property seemed miles away from everything, but only a short drive to the West entrance to Glacier. We hope to return again soon.

My daughter and I enjoyed a short trip to Glacier recently, and were very happy to be staying at The Great Bear Inn. The owners are very welcoming and hospitable, and they clearly take a lot of pride in maintaining the property. It really feels like a home away from home!

My husband and I stayed here twice during our Montana trip. What a wonderful find! The Inn is situated in a private setting just a few miles from the West Glacier entrance to Glacier National Park. The grounds are lovely and well kept. The Inn is spacious, warm and tastefully decorated in keeping with the area. The guest rooms are spotless and welcoming with all necessary amenities. But the best part of the Inn has to be the accommodating hosts, Bunny and Larry. They go above and beyond to make your time there comfortable and pleasant. Breakfast is wonderful, including Bunny's cinnamon rolls and pancakes with fresh-picked huckleberries when in season. They are so knowledgeable about the area and provide helpful info for your stay. They have rooms in the Inn and two larger cabins. Cabin renters are even invited for breakfast. Highly recommend!

Stayed here earlier this year, just me and a friend, slightly before the peak season started, and had the absolutely loveliest time. The lodge is stunning, in the midst of nature, so quiet and peaceful. You can sit on the veranda and watch the hummingbirds come and go. Larry and Bunny honestly welcomed us like family and fed us with huge breakfasts (amazing piles of pancakes and monkey bread, eggs, fruit, juice, cereal, and fresh coffee) every day... We were actually the only ones staying that weekend, and it was pretty special to have the place to ourselves, it felt like a home away from home. Larry and Bunny are wonderful hosts and really interesting people - we loved our long chats with them about their lives, all the places they have lived and worked, and about the lodge. Oh, and the beds and a lot of other furniture in the lodge is all handmade from wood by Larry himself, and the little house in the woods (ask him about that) - which was such a sweet touch. On our hikes we saw plenty of wildlife but NO BEARS or MOOSE (sad face), so we will just have to come back again another time! The Great Bear Inn is a special place that I will remember for a long time to come and hope to return to - cannot recommend it highly enough. Thanks Larry and Bunny! x
