10/10 stay at the Bluenose Inn!
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the Bluenose Inn. It’s the perfect distance from town (can walk there in 15 min) and it’s a short drive to Acadia. The front desk attendant even gave us directions to Cadillac Mountain at 3am because we had to be up for the sunrise hike and needed help as to where to go. I’m also in the process of looking for a new mattress, and I’m probably going to buy the Perfect Sleeper mattress from Serta because it’s what we slept on at the Bluenose. I called the front desk after my stay to ask which mattress they used and they called me back the next day with the info. So thoughtful! I also love the outdoor pool. Such a cool view and very clean. I would definitely recommend staying at the Bluenose Inn!

Horrible Service, Mediocre Hotel
There is a woman who works the front desk who is downright rude and that is reflected in service. We stayed in a room (226) with a king and "pull out sofa." I was with my two teens. The mattress on the pull-out, which looks about 40 years old, was absolutely useless and actually inflicted pain! My kids use pull-out sofas all the time at hotels, and although they're never great, they are at least usable. This "mattress" was about two inches thick, had zero padding and you could feel every spring in it, as well as the bars of the metal frame holding it up. Seriously, you'd be better off on the floor. When I called the front office to ask for a rollaway instead, I was told I would be charged an extra $20 a night. I explained the sofa bed was absolutely unusable and informed that "no one else has ever complained" (I can only wonder how many other people have been told that!) I invited her to come up and see for herself, to which she curtly replied, "I'll send maintenance." The maintenance man came in, took one look at the mattress and said, "yes that's a problem, I will get you a rollaway." He promptly returned with a rollaway that was usable.
I was not provided a receipt at checkout, nor was I emailed one, had to ask for it. There was a $60 charge for the rollaway even though the maintenance agreed the sofa bed was unusable. Management is now refusing to respond.

Nice views, good location
There are definitely more pros then cons.
Pros: good location, great views, friendly staff, comfortable beds, nice size room, coffee stations, water stations, pool, workout area, great bartender and especially piano player in the evening was very enjoyable!!
Cons: costly, things didn’t work well. Couldn’t get the door to the balcony open, air conditioner was really loud and fireplace didn’t work. Maintenance called a couple times. Maintenance was very responsive.
Lastly the noise from the road was really loud but nothing the hotel can do about that.
I would probably stay again but make sure I got a room higher up. We were on the second floor.

Great hotel with an upscale feel.
Absolutely love staying at the Blue nose inn. Would definitely recommend it to someone, and we will be staying there again. Stayed in room 338. Very nice view. Very spacious room. The hotel is clean and the staff is very attentive. A special thank you to James at the front desk for being friendly and very helpful with our questions.
The only drawback is that the floors and walls are quite thin, and we could hear a lot of jumping and noise upstairs. But this is probably just the construction of an older building. We'll just choose the top floor next time we come.
Excellent stay overall!

Decor dated but otherwise nice stay with amazing views
The positives first: the view from the third floor is incredible. Drinking your morning coffee on the balcony is truly a memorable experience.
The staff is very nice and attentive and appreciate the coffee stations located throughout the first floor. My husband loved the massage chair in the room. Gift shop on main floor is nice. Two pools.
The decor is extremely dated, it’s like a 1988 mom’s floral wet dream. The bed wasn’t very comfortable and the pillows were awful. The restaurant is only open in the morning for breakfast.
