This was our 3rd hotel in our pre paid New England trip. It was easily positioned for all to do. Bar Harbour turn itself was great lots of shops and whale watching trips if needed. It was something I definitely wanted to do but I think it was still out of season to guarantee a sighting. Would def recommend to visit there especially if you are a petrol head like me as it was the Corvette convention and must have been over 80 corvettes of all ages ......awesome

What a truly lovely, charming place! Our room was huge, had a king sized bed with five pillows, large sitting area with artificial fireplace, recliner that gave massages, desk and chair, bureau, large wallscreen TV, air conditioning, microwave and keurig, large double sink area and private toilet and shower..... and a sitting balcony with a nice view. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. The elevator is large and fast. Reception has a small sitting area, the staff was always friendly and helpful. There is a recessed lounge area that is very nice for sitting with friends or just enjoying the excellent piano player at night. Excellent facility all around although restaurant falls a bit short. (See separate review.) Would love to return.

Rooms need deep cleaning and updating
We were thrilled about the location and views upon check-in. The front desk was professional and explained about dining options, spa, and daily piano music. The room looked great at first glance but upon staying there we noticed several issues.
However, let me start with the positives first. The restaurant on the premises is great--food and staff there --both amazing and friendly. The location of the hotel is away from the town--which can be an inconvenience for some but we wanted quiet evenings.
Now the issues:
1. The furniture is outdated. The mattresses are old and the AC units too are old and noisy.
2. The room itself was dusty and the carpets needed to be deep cleaned (I could see hair stuck in the carpets along with food) but the dust was a bigger issue. My kid kept having itchy eyes and runny nose all through the stay. He is severely allergic to dust mites. As soon as we would step out, he'd be fine but within ten minutes of entering the room, we could feel that we were breathing in dust. The AC made it worse and was most likely the source of dust.
3. The fireplace makes howling sounds that woke us up at night. So much for staying away from the busy streets of town. The road noise is also apparent when you leave the balcony door open.
4. The breakfast is modest for a AAA 4-Diamond facility. The location/small room where it is served is also terrible. They need to bring it to the lounge area and expand the menu a bit with fresh fruits and scrambled eggs.
5. Despite all of this, I'd give them an average review but the biggest shock was terrible housekeeping staff with a lot of attitude.
Our biggest issues were dusty rooms but even the balcony was not well-maintained. We couldn't step out in the balcony to avoid dust as every baluster and railing had cobwebs on it and despite several complains, no one cleaned them or took time to ensure that the housekeeping staff cleaned it.
When we shared our concern with the front desk, the housekeeping lady got mad at me the next morning for complaining. This was after a $ 20 tip. She then corrected me because I left a note (along with the tip) asking them to clean the balcony railing and not the balusters. "Oh, I cleaned the railings but you did not say that I had to clean the balusters-- those are called the balusters you did not ask me to clean them and there was no need to complain to the front desk"
We went back to the front desk, they apologized and offered to move us to a different room for the last day or they'd buy us dinner. There was no guarantee that the other room would have a clean balcony and we had other plans for dinner. All we expected was that they clean the balcony which could have enjoyed for the views and to escape the dusty room, but the balusters still had cobwebs until the day we left. Too bad they were hard to photograph. All the staff had to do is supervise the cleaning--no one did.
Well now I am posting a picture and the hotel can decide what else needs to be cleaned or maintained in the balcony. They can also see the source of dust and cobwebs.
The rudeness went beyond a level that the housekeeping decided not to do our bed that day. I guess it was our punishment for complaining. Very disappointed in will complain to AAA for misleading us by rating this facility a 4 diamond. It is not. The rooms are of an outdated motor inn from the 70s and 80s. The price is too steep for poor maintenance.
Yes, and the spa never returned our calls.
My memory of Maine has always been a clean state with courteous people. Bluenose inn failed on both.

Happy and very satisfied
Great room, comfortable beds, and a great big bathroom which my mom like it so much. Our room had a very nice view. My parents enjoyed everything and that is the important thing for me. Thankyou!!!!!!
