Zephyr Cove RV Rocks!
I'll admit, I was a little hesistant to book here after reading all the other reviews, but a couple people in an RV forum I follow raved about this place. I had a choice to make... tripadvisor, or the other anonymous internet people who has so far not let me down on a recommendation. I went with the forum suggestion and booked this place. I am SO GLAD I DID. Checking in across the street was SUPER easy and all of the staff was SUPER friendly, so I don't understand what the complaint was about checking in. You leave your trailer in the RV park, and do a 1 minute walk across the street. I did wait in line for about 15 minutes, but everybody had questions and there was only 1 guy working. No big deal.
We were in site 146 and it was perfect. It was quiet, it was clean, and everybody around us was respectful of noise. I wish they banned campfires and allowed only propane pits, but, very few people were using actual firepits so that was good. I think more people are becoming conscientious of the environment (and not wanting to smell like smoke!). The only litter I noticed was a beer box in our fire pit that I'm assuming the previous occupants felt we could use for a fire, but we used our own propane pit instead so ... I'm sure the next occupants probably thought we left it for them.
The bathrooms were clean, and always available, as were the showers, and they're free! It's close to Sand Harbor and the new East Shore Trail, which I HIGHLY recommend) and about 45 mins to the Eagle Falls Trail and Vikingsholm, which is closed for the season). We walked the Rubicon trail around emerald bay and came back to Zephyr Cove, got a drink at the sand bar and chillaxed. It was great. I would definitely stay there again.

Free beach in Tahoe
We had stopped along our drive to marvel at the wondrous scenery, but every time we stopped at a beach, etc., there was an admission charge. We stumbled onto this wooded beach resort by accident because we were scoping out the restaurant for breakfast. It is a lovely beach with very nearby parking. The restaurant and hotel/resort is right there, too, which makes it even more inviting.

Nice RV Park
Beautiful wooded area right off the highway. The front sites may hear traffic noise but our spot was super quiet. Lake Tahoe is across the street. Beautiful setting. The beach bar was open even though it was off season. We paid $10.75 for a crown & coke. I thought alcohol was suppose to be cheaper in Nevada?? Walking across the street to register was no big deal. I'm not sure why people complained about that.

Despite making our reservation in January 2021, we were relegated to a postage stamp space that was the only unshaded site in the park.
Registration advised that only 1 of 2 bathroom/shower facilities in the park would be open. In the first attempt to use these facilities I found all but one commode unusable as the balance were filled to the rim with human excrement. Guests informed me that these conditions had existed for 2 days. This level of sanitation is completely unsatisfactory given continuing pandemic conditions.
We found our access to water at our site blocked as a bush had been allowed to fully engulf the pump. Odors were present as the cap to the RV sewer system had been left open.
Due to the absence of security at the park entrance, the park was being used by overflow beach crowds to park their vehicles. I arrived back at my location to find a vehicle on my site and was subsequently threatened verbally and physically when I requested removal. Park security had to be called.
I found shuttered hotel/restaurant furniture and fixtures being stored in park parking lots. Directional road striping within the park has been left to heavily fade.
I have been trying to reach executives at Aramark Leisure HQ in Phoenix, AZ to discuss my dissatisfaction without success to date.

Zephyr canceled my reservation!
beware!! I received a phone call today from Zephyr cove telling me that they canceled my reservation. I did not get any reason for this cancellation. I made the reservation months ago and no we have nowhere to stay. How unprofessional!
