On the down side, The heater was loud so it woke me during the night. The bath tub is dangerously set high and needs to be redone as it is old. Breakfast is standard, food is packaged appropriately and breakfast area clean.

As an added bonus, the rate was reasonable and the TV remote was easy to use! Not overly fancy, but a very nice place to hang your hat.

Gold mining town charm

Location is awesome because of where it is situated. There is food, shops and things to see all in one area. Regular chain stores are a short drive away but worth the trip just to see the small town.
Bad: We didn't know where to go for the entrance, luckily we noticed the sign the said "registration". The distance from registration parking to front desk counter with bags is not ideal (especially if bags are heavy). Pillows were lacking fluff. Breakfast could use a protein besides a hard boiled egg.
Over all good stay, great hospitality and will recommend and stay again.

A great night's stay in a historic gold mining town in the Sierra Nevada foothills

Situated right on the main street through town, it is surrounded by antiques shops, quaint eateries, and some good ole watering holes!
The staff were helpful and very friendly, the bed was comfortable, the appliances and heater worked, and there was plenty of hot water.
For my stay this time, (2nd visit), I was again able to lose myself for a few moments, as if I was traveling back into history.
The hotel definitely served its purpose quite well, and for a very fair price!

It’s right in downtown so you can walk to restaurants and shops. Christina (sp), the night supervisor during our stay, was very helpful and professional when we had an issue with our bathroom sink. She should get a raise.
