The location is amazing for the area-- it is right downtown, within walking distance of many little shops, restaurants, and bars. The room was bigger than expected, and the air conditioner did its best regardless of the fact that I chose to visit during one of the hottest weeks of the year. The building is old, and the floors are creaky, but that is exactly what you'd expect from an establishment that was built in the 1800's. It adds to the charm. The building is old and creepy in the best way-- at one point I just walked up and down the hallways trying to see the old pictures and feel the history. The staff was very friendly and professional (even when I asked them about ghost stories.) I would absolutely recommend this establishment to anyone looking to stay in Sonora, CA.

The room was clean and comfortable. Only heard a very few vehicles noise, ie a motorcycle or two passing by, or a car with loud music on the street below, nothing the hotel can control. I will retun, and recommend the Hotel.

Nice but potential to be great

Great location in downtown Sonora - walking distance to restaurants and shops. Really enjoyed the historic aspect and decor of the inn but it is definitely in need of maintenance and upgrades. Carpet is worn, doors stick, and general repairs are needed throughout. While the staff was friendly, we did have issues with housekeeping providing minimal service (bed covers somewhat pulled up - empty the trash). One day they never did anything so we moved to another room and then moved back again the following day after the room was properly cleaned (second room was on the front of the building and was noisy from all the traffic). Overall, I would recommend the property because of the location and interesting history. I just hope they take the steps to make this inn as amazing as it could be.

Sonora Inn is in a great location right in downtown Sonora. The building is historic so pretty old which can be see in the bathroom especially with some water stains. My carpet did look like it was in need of some vacuuming. However, I enjoyed my experience overall. The lobby is lovely and the Inn charming. I plan to stay here again in the future.

Excellent location but some downsides

This hotel is perfectly located in the centre of Sonora where there are lots of bars and restaurants. Reception staff were very helpful, pool on the roof was lovely. The downside to this hotel is there was absolutely nowhere in the room to hang any clothes, not even a hook which would have been helpful. Whilst I appreciate this is an old hotel, the bathroom was a disgrace. There was rust around the plug hole and it generally needed smartening up. There was hardly any water pressure and it was in poor condition.
