This was the 3rd stay at the Buckhorn Inn for us. It was my wife's Birthday and I booked a long weekend at Cottage 6. It is one of the most relaxing experiences you can have while visiting the Smokies. The staff always go above and beyond to make your stay as special as possible. The food is amazing and I highly recommend doing dinner at the Inn if you stay, or if you are just in the area.

We learned about The Buckhorn Inn from friends and having been staying there regularly for 30 years. About 10 years ago, we began staying the month of January while occasionally making shorter trips at other times during the year. In January the crowds are smaller during the week and the trails less crowded. The weather is usually fine for hiking and walking the streets of Gatlinburg. The Buckhorn is the perfect place to spend time reading, relaxing, and exploring the area. The food is always exceptional; the staff, eager to make your stay memorable; and the inn, welcoming with several beautiful gathering rooms for relaxing or visiting with friends while enjoying the hearty afternoon snack provided. There are other nice inns in the area that we have “checked out” due to curiosity, but none compare to The Buckhorn Inn, a place to make treasured memories.

We have visited Buckhorn Inn on several occasions, and have always had a wonderful experience. From the lovely accommodations, beautiful surroundings, delicious breakfasts and dinners, friendly staff, and excellent customer service, each stay leaves us well-fed, relaxed, refreshed, and renewed. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

We recently celebrated another wedding anniversary at the Buckhorn. Our three night reservation in August was booked following our January 2022 visit. We’ve been coming here for the past seven years, and we’re never disappointed. The rooms, friendly staff and meals are OUTSTANDING. This time we took a quiet drive through the nearby Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail on one day and up to Clingman’s Dome the next. Returning to the Buckhorn Inn is always great. It’s quiet and so relaxing.l

Arrived on a Friday night late from our dinner at Crystelle Creek Restaurant which you can see my review on. It was late and of course, I didn't print out the nice guides to the cottage the agent sent me so the adventure started. It was 9 at night and no one but the kitchen staff was still there and I was knocking at the door. Finally, a nice girl helped me find the cottage and away I went...Having no problem with finding the location, I then punched the code to the lockbox 25 times to have it not open. Went back and spoke to the same girl who gave me a key...Then we were able to get in. This was my first experience at a Bed & Breakfast and was it nice. Some how I was able to get the cottage on short notice and was not disappointed. You walk into a front porch area with seating so you can enjoy the morning coffee. You then open the front door to a sitting room with a TV and fireplace. Off to your right is a small kitchenette with a small fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. There were also some electric eyes to cook from and the utilities were all there. You then walk into the bedroom with a nice kingsized bed and a full bath with a jacuzzi. One of my favorite things was the balcony off the bedroom for us to sit and listen to the birds and see the mountains...It was extremely nice. My only negative issue was the bed itself, when you sleep on a memory foam mattress and come to a bed that feels like laying on the ground you will have some issues sleeping which I did so the next day was interesting. The best part of the stay was the breakfast...you walk into a library of woodland pictures on the wall small lamps everywhere and soft Italian music playing in the background. Views of the Smokey Mountains can be seen from every table which made the experience very serene. Our wattress welcomed us and explained the mornings' menu and Juices avalible. She then placed a plate of two HOT Homemade biscuits and two "Sticky Toffee Coffee Cakes" on the table. They were of course gone in minutes...After the homemade coffee was fininished, she brought our orders of "Cream Cheese Filled Croissant French Toast with Warm Honey-Rum Roasted Peach and Bacon" and a "Three Cheese and Ham Omelet" with Gruyere, Cheddar and Smoked Cheddar Cheese. The breakfast and atmosphere made me forget everything but the momment. Afterwards we strolled around the trail outside of the Inn and went through the labirath. Nicest 24 hours we had had in a while. You have to go!
