Amazing stay with fantastic staff!
My running group and I had a wonderful experience at the hotel this weekend for the Spartan Race weekend! Especially helpful was Sandy from the front desk, who not only was courteous and friendly, but was extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations, ideas for activities, and even helped our group with creative ideas when there was a shortage of rental cars in both Kalispell and Missoula. We also had a great breakfast buffet EVERY morning before our races and the rooms were comfortable and extremely clean. We will be back next year! Thank you Sandy!

Comfortable and quiet accommodations downtown
Jennifer and her team showed us a great time at the Red Lion in DT Kalispell. The location is great, with easy indoor access to the mall and right next to the shops and restaurants on Main. The bed is fantastic and free coffee 24hrs is a great perk. We’ve loved our stay!

Good place, but staff is a couple of young kids, who could use training in customer service. Definitely more interested in local girls visiting than in hotel guests. Not interested or possibly given authority to resolve issues.

No Breakfast and Blood on the Wall
While the room supposedly came with a take away breakfast they ran out and had no back up plan or any particular interest in trying to make it up to any of the disappointed guests. Mistakes in planning can be made, but to just say “we ran out, too bad” is a far worse failure. I tried to call the hotel manager to complain but the number on his business card (406-751-5050, extension 5064) could not be reached through their phone tree. Try it yourself - there is no option to just dial an extension. So bad it’s almost funny.
Even worse was the condition of the room. It was worn and had many flaws but the “highlight” was certainly the blood splatter on the wall (see photo).

Convenient For A Visit To The Flathead Lake Area
In contrast to other recent reviewers' experiences we actually enjoyed our stay here at the RL Kalispell. We had no problems with check-in/check-out and the [free] bagged breakfast was decent.
Being from Washington State where public swimming pools haven't been open in ages it was nice to see a swimming area open and not crowded. Parking was more than adequate.
The property is located next to what passes for a convention center/shopping mall (not much to write home about) as well as the old town center (which has some charm). It is pet friendly. I would agree with others that it could use some modernizing but for our purposes it was more than adequate.
