Beautiful Maine Charm
We loved staying at the Ivy Manor Inn. We stayed at one of the cottages which was well designed. The location cannot be beat, near the restaurants and shopping, while having the great outdoor firepits. We will be staying here again in the future!

Cutest outdoor area! The fire pits, live music and drink cart were phenomenal. Sitting around the fire, sipping my pumpkin beer listening to the music and meeting new people was fabulous! So much fun! The leaves growing up the Inn were beautiful and the Haunted House they put on was great!

The Quintessential New England Manor Inn
If in Bar Harbor this is the place to stay. Perfect? No, but the ambiance about the place is why you come to New England. We stayed two nights in Room 9 on the first floor. Room fronts the street and the garden area in front which is fine as long as you keep your curtains drawn. The music didn't bother us at all as we out and about. They do keep an eye out for those lounging about the fire pits (non guests are asked to purchase a drink, guests are free to sit and enjoy (we were asked nicely if we were staying having just sat down with an ice cream in hand, LOL).
So the room has period pieces with a nice large, comfortable bed and a fireplace (got it to work once, never again but didn't need it). The TV is in the 'closet' so pretty much didn't watch it but again didn't need it. There's a nice little seating area and a nice small couch in the room. The bathroom had double sinks and was very large. The shower was nice. Only suggestion would be to pipe some heat in there (can be a bit cold ). One of the cleanest bathroom ever.
Breakfast was fine but a little disappointing given the high standards of everything else. Fully understand there's space constraints (two small table in the 'reception/bar/breakfast' area. Coffee and hot chocolate (Swiss Miss) available as well as OJ and water. Packets of oat meal (add water) and bread and bagels and muffins, and bananas. Basic stuff. For the price would like a little bit more.
So my word of caution if booking through a third party like Booking .com. Check and confirm if the price the booking site quotes and confirms includes taxes or not. Our site said it did, upon checkout we were informed it didn't so we ended up paying more than what we expected. Didn't contest and do hope the proprietors work with the booking party to get on the same page.
Location wise you can't get any better. Convenient to everything you need (shops, restaurants, etc). Got a couple of good tips from the staff on where to eat. Get reservations for all your meals.
Parking is in the rear and what a blessing it is to have parking in this town and not having to worry about finding a spot.
A bit on the pricier side for accommodations but we thought it worth it. Besides you'll be the envy of all those who walk by wishing they had stayed there.

A beautiful garden in Bar Harbor
Between the fire pits, the beautiful garden and the wonderful music Ivy Manor Inn has been the most enjoyable place to sped our evening in Bar Harbor.
You can order drinks, coffe tea or hit chocolate and enjoy the incredible atmosphere while watching the fire.
It is free a d you don't have to actually stay in the hotel. (Although I wish we did)
They are not asking for anything but offering a beautiful garden to all.
They are definitely deserve the 5 star review!
Thank you for a wonderful evening :)

First the pros. Great location for walking the town, ample parking which was an essential in Bar Harbor, front garden area with the fire pits, bar and entertainment was great, lovely building. The cons, we were in room 7, which is downstairs. You could hear every movement from the room above. Claw foot tub/shower combo, the shower curtain was too long and at the same time too short to go all they way around the tub. Muffins were fine the first morning, second morning they were stale, I assume they were from the previous day. It was a very basic, standard motel type continental breakfast. To conclude, great location but try to get an upper story room or a cabin and pass on the breakfast.
