Our stay was somewhat disappointing; it was not as good as our prior Best Western Experiences. In all, it was a mixed bag. The Good: AC, free breakfast (standard eggs, bacon, sausage, cereal , toast, apples, bananas, juices, and waffle maker), forceful shower, nice little pool, good pillows, quiet. The Not so good: gritty floors and dirty walls (and corners), cramped breakfast area. bad coffee, and hard to navigate TV channels. We have never complained about cleanliness before. We're not that fussy. But this place was really not clean. We'll try another hotel next time.

The staff was friendly. Complimentary breakfast was ok. The room was clean but room was a little dinged up. Did have a pool that looked ok. Staff had good restaurant tips. Convenient for Joshua Tree National Park. Very nice Park visitor center nearby.

The staff member who checked us in was not helpful. Once we got into our room (504), we used the bathroom and after trying to flush the toliet it clogged up and over flooded. We let the staff know, and also informed her that 504 had a detached/removed fire alarms and it did not have a phone in the room. Her response was "yeah someone probably stole it." And then moved us to 502, we tried to open it with the new set of keys. It didn't work. When I went back to the front desk to let her know, the staff member barely looked up from her snapchat and just made us a new set of keys. I walked all the way back and they still didn't work. So I went again to the front desk and this time she begrudgingly came back to the room with us. None of the keys worked except her Master Key. She nonchalantly let us know that we'll just have to find a staff member to let us into our room everytime we leave. I asked if anyone was gonna fix it and she let me know that she would let staff/maintenance know. The next afternoon when I asked the front desk about it, they had no idea what I was talking about. This staff member was a little more helpful, and radioed for maintenance to come check our door. He didn't fix it, he just said "well I got it open for you." At this point I was mad and asked how we were supposed to get in and out of our room. He gave us his master key and asked that we just return it whenever we checked out (which we did). Apart from all that, the room was dirty, the curtains were broken, there was no shampoo or even a bar of soap in the second room. And the pull out sofa was very stained. Breakfast was not good.

The place was not kept up. The pool was supposed to be heated, but was not. Hot tub full of bugs and dirt and slightly green. Did not use either. Room dated and overpriced. Had issues with key cards. The grounds were dirty with garbage and the landscaping was not good. Lots of younger people partying all night.

Room was clean. Outside was not. Checkin was pretty lame. Waaaaay over priced for value received. One ice machine located away from the rooms. We did get a pretty good hamburger and onion rings from John’s Place just up the road.
