I booked my reservation months in advance and was promised a better room than I had in December 2023. I called the hotel saying we would arrive at night. "No worries we will hold your room" the desk gal said. (a blonde young girl) I was quoted one rate and charged a much higher rate! We arrived and they gave away our room. We got the same room (where nothing works) that we had last December! Every time we had to go to the front desk there would be a long line of guests angry at the check in process and reservations getting mixed up. Blondie is disorganized! The Black gir in the early monring JUST ROCKS AT BOOKING! Room did not look clean. Very skimpy on towels and toilet paper. Our key had to be rekeyed SIX TIMES during our two night stay. It's not relaxing to keep going to the front desk to keep getting rekeyed. FEW movie channels, AC did not work strong, shower was broken, could not turn it on.Since I had a long series of dental work in Yucca Valley we have stayed here 10 times. Under OLD management it was always great but not now! Spend a little more and stay at a different Hotel.

We’ve been traveling from NY to CA for a total of 12 days. We stayed at a Best Western Plus for the first time our second night out and were very happy so we decided to look for Best Western properties for the rest of our trip. Upon arrival I asked to see a room. I was denied access but told to look on their website to see a room. Had other reviews often mentioned cleanliness we would have left right then. I asked for a walk up room because both my husband and I have health issues that make walking difficult. We were given a room that required us to park in a parking area around the corner from our room with an incline in order to get to the door. The room was on the back side of the building not visible from parking areas. Most of the property was nicely landscaped and in order but where our room was located there was trash blowing around and large areas with spills from previous days remained uncleaned. Very unappealing. Our entrance faced the west and the door handle was so hot we literally couldn’t touch it. My husband had to cover his hand with his shirt sleeve to get into the room. We carried a face cloth with us so we could use the handle when coming back into the room. Breakfast was disappointing. Not much of an assortment. The outside of the trash cans had dried on drips of coffee and waffle batter on them. There were crumbs everywhere! Even under the tables where the buffet was set up. The glass had fingerprints all over as did the cases where bread and muffins were kept. It appeared we were the first at the buffet so I don’t believe any of the cleanliness issues were from that morning. The staff was friendly. One point for friendliness, one for a clean room. I took one point away for parking and room location, one point for mess outside our room and one point away for breakfast disappointment. I’m not sure we would stay at this property again.

We are in Twentynine Palms for events at the STL Observatory at least 4 times a year, and we always stay here. We come here because of the breakfast, you can't get a breakfast like is at any other hotel.

The floor was so dirty we had to wear our shoes. There were no shower amenities available and no coffee for the room. Were told breakfast was also not an option at the time.

Average overall experience, good deal for room size but subpar service/cleanliness

The check in staff were excellent and friendly, very helpful and polite, they treat us very well and made us feel welcome. By the price paid we were impressed by the room size. Unfortunately we did found a bed bug on our bed sheets and we were concerned about this (seems to be just one stray but still we were concerned) the AC unit stopped working on the middle of the night we reported as we check out but the staff were very indifferent, I won't say the lady was rude but she was indifferent when we report a non working AC (for middle of the desert) and we report a bed bug and she did not blink or made a comment, not a single apology. Our room had empty bottles of shampoo so we shower with just water, wall outlets had missing covers and were loose, electric risk to plug your devices, reported but staff was indifferent about it. Breakfast was good, what you typically expect from a Best Western experience, eggs, tater tots, bacon sausage, cereals, waffle maker, all clean and without any issues we had a decent breakfast.
