Forgive my rant. Planned this trip for a year, always stay at BW's so we booked this hotel plus two other BW'S along our route. The Abby in St George was outstanding and Pocatello Inn was fine but when we viewed the room that was costing $2200.00 for the week at this hotel we were beyond disappointed. The term we used to describe it was "sad", dark, dreary, undecorated with a view of the backside of adjoining buildings. It would have been fine for an overnight stay or possibly at half the rate but our longstanding history with the BW chain has spoiled us as to what to expect. We checked out and then into a beautiful room in the Clubhouse Inn at a rate $600.00 lower. Even though the BW manager knew we were disappointed in his lower quality/ higher priced room he refused to negotiate a reasonable penalty for our cancellation and not only charged us for the room but also TAXES on the room we didn't accept. As a business owner, I've never accepted payment from an unsatisfied customer. I hope the manager enjoys his $363.87 penalty, he lost much more in good will.

Always love our stays here

This is our go-to hotel when visiting Yellowstone and it never disappoints. Hotel is always clean and the staff is outstanding. Couldn’t be friendlier. We don’t eat the breakfast, so I can’t speak to that. Our son loves the pool. Looks like it has been recently renovated too. This hotel is located a block from anything you could possibly want. We have never drove anywhere in town! It’s so easy to walk everywhere.

When we were not able to get to our in-park lodging at Mammoth Hot Springs due to a sudden road closure, we had no choice but to exit the park and seek lodging in West Yellowstone. We were so thankful that the Best Western had availability! We were warmly welcomed by the front desk staff and given an oversized room with two queen beds. On a very hot day, the room was cool and comfortable. We made use of the indoor pool and spa, so relaxing after a stressful day. Then we headed out to explore the many nearby restaurants and ended up at the charming (you order in a repurposed school bus!) Las Palmitas just a block or so away, with excellent Mexican food to eat outdoors. We slept great in our quiet room. We were pleasantly surprised the next morning that the hotel still offers a hot breakfast. We appreciated the precautions in place - guests must don gloves before serving themselves any of the hot foods, and masks are required (and were worn by all staff we encountered). All in all, a nice stay, and we’d not hesitate to stay again.

Dated and Pricey, but not much choice around

The hotel is very dated and pricey for what you get, but there isn't much choice in the area. We had a double queen room on the first floor, the room was fairly big, bathroom was a bit small with a combined bath tub/shower. It was convenient to the pool, lobby and breakfast area. There was a maximum number of people allowed at the pool, we were asked to do a head count before using the pool. A hot breakfast was served, gloves were provided for self service. Housekeeping was provided upon request. The front desk staff was extremely nice and helpful. The biggest issue we had was with the dryer on the 3rd floor, our clothing didn't dry after 2 hours and we had to hang dry everything in our room. The front desk did provide us with extra hangers to hang stuff up. Location is convenient to Yellowstone, restaurants and shops.

The Hotel was nicer than others in the area and provided a better value than others. The property was well maintained and adequate parking was available. The staff were very friendly and provid d good advice on local dining and activities within the park.
