This place is by far the best small wedding venue in southwest Colorado. My husband and I always liked this side of Colorado so when we decided to get married, we started to look at Durango area. Even Durango has lots of wedding venues, We didn't really feel right in any places. So we started to look at Mancos and this place came up. We find out this was exactly what we were looking for. Quiet, Private, and Amazing view. Lee the owner gave us amazing read and married us by their private Lake also Peggy, the other owner was the witness. After the ceremony, we had photoshoot at their beautiful garden areas and also I got to ride canoe. We were glad how we got married here without loud party and lots of guests. For the cabin, We stayed at Lake house and it was just so stunning and we were surrounded by beautiful flowers, arts, and view. Lake house looks over the lake and mountains. I think this place is the best romantic and magical place in Colorado. I can't wait to come back soon. Thanks again Peggy and Lee for the wonderful hospitality.

My family stayed at the Lake house for couple days. The owners were super friendly and felt so welcome. The property seems like a botanic garden. They are well taking care of. and THE VIEW! Private lake right in front of us. it is so peaceful and quiet yet so much to look at this location. My family took a day to hike and wonder around the property. My son was having more fun running around picking things looking at things and been one with nature. The Lake house was also so charming and cozy and we slept like a baby. The kitchen was huge and they supplied fresh eggs, local bread, coffee etc, so we enjoyed making breakfast. It was one of the memorable vacation we took as a family.

Staying at Willowtail Springs is magical! Being here in the winter, its a stunning, winter wonderland. Driving onto the beautiful property, I immediately start to slow down and relax in this private, nurturing environment. Waking up to the complete quiet, listening to only the sounds of nature in a luxury, unique cabin is good for the soul. You can feel the love that owners Peggy and Lee have poured into all that makes Willowtail Springs so special. I would highly recommend this as a solitary get away, romantic getaway, family reunion, vacation with friends and more...definitely a bonus to be so close to Mesa Verde National Park.

quiet rustic get away, high price

I like reviews to be honest and give readers full perspective. This was a nice place to stay, we don't mind rustic. But it was very high priced for what you got. At this price point, I expected very nice linens and a great bed. Both of those were average. The fresh eggs, juice, bread, and jam were a wonderful (and much appreciated) touch, as the store is miles away. Know that you will drive several miles down a gravel road to get here. There was no shower (just tub) in our cabin which was a negative for us. It is a serene and beautiful setting, takes about an hour to get to the Mesa Verde tours (but about 10-15 min from the entrance).

We stayed at Willowtail Springs on our recent trip to the Durango area. It was the perfect location since we spent most of our time exploring Mesa Verde and it was less than 15 minutes to the entrance to the park, and about a 30 minute drive into Durango. We rented the bungalo which had a beautiful view of the lake ... we could hear the ducks from the bedroom. We enjoyed the breakfast items provided so we could have a good breakfast before heading out to the national park. We were able to walk around the property a bit one morning and it was so peaceful around the lake. The cabin itself was big, especially for 2 people. We were not expecting the sealed-off (and dormant) beehive in the bedroom sealing. So interesting ... and not a single bee in sight! :-) The hand-made soaps and shampoos in the bathroom were a nice touch, but it should be noted that there is only a tub (no shower) and that the bedroom and bathroom are connected without full walls between them, which limits full privacy when you are in the bathroom. We enjoyed our stay and wished we had had more time to take the canoes out on the lake. Thanks to Lee for recommending Mancos Brewing too! Great beers and decent menu for a brewery!
