Potential but many missed opportunities

For a bed and breakfast, the food was horrible. Definitely pre frozen, pre packaged foods. Nothing you would except from a bed and breakfast. We couldn’t finish our meals. The pancakes were pre frozen, pre packaged, same for the muffins and sausage. My omelette was covered in margarine, not even butter, globs of margarine. Really bad. Wi-Fi is pretty much non existent. It was very difficult to work while I was there. Super frustrating. Totally not worth $400 a night. Very far from the park. Definitely a one time visit. A lot of potential but tons of missed opportunities. There is no wine happy hour as as advertised as they are waiting on their liquor license.

The Hounds Tooth Inn is NOT a luxury hotel. It is bare minimum. While the breakfasts are decent, not special, the room is sub-par, not enough towel racks or counter space, terrible low end tv service, happy hour no wine, average pre-made packaged hor d’oeuvres. Falsely advertised as a “spa” (jetted tub in some rooms only ???) Totally over priced, an average 2-star bnb at the most. They dpent more on their marketing book than on upgrades to the rooms.

Nice place that with a little focus could be great!

Great location, to be fair astounded at the lack of real choice in this area. Nice place, but a little shabby round the edges .. attention to detail. lack of outside space with loungers and canopies would have been nice. Bathrooms a bit small and low rent on fittings and fixtures.

A tired property in need of TLC

This is a standard B&B in a great location. The best part of the stay was the breakfasts although we did have to select what we wanted from a limited menu all three breakfasts. We were told that there were normally drinks and snacks at 6.00 pm but the alcohol license had run out so no alcohol. The nibbles were cubes of bland cheese salami and olives covered in cling film. The room was ok but looking very tired and the outside areas were in need of TLC. I guess the high price comes with the location but otherwise it is not value for money. Staff were pleasant at all times but rooms will not be properly made up and cleaned even if you ask.

Its not worth the price tag, but it is lovely

It's a lovely little inn. Positives - It's clean, and air-conditioning works a treat. The innkeepers are lovely and hospitable - you can help yourself to tea, coffee and apples anytime which is great. Shower pressure is great. The thing is, it's not a luxury hotel and the room rate is waaaaaay too much for what you get. My criticisms are probably a bit picky, but for the price you expect a luxury experience and the Hounds Tooth just hits 3 star vibes. If I had been paying 3 star rates I'd have been really pleased with the experience. You'll have a nice stay there 100%. But..for the price, it's absurd and the amenities, room and especially bathroom are not able to deliver on the luxury price tag. For example - the inside of the bathroom cupboard hasn't been wiped down and is clearly dirty (you won't notice this unless you open an empty cupboard but in a luxury property this would not escape housekeeping notice), sound proofing is poor between floors and neighbouring rooms. Would I stay again? Absolutely if it was at least 40% cheaper. For the current rates? no probably not.
