This motel was not good. One review said it overlooked the marina. Only if you had X-ray vision. It overlooks an industrial area on the edge of town. Not scenic. No air conditioning. The room was hot so there was a fan in the room. The window opened to an alley in the back. Being on the first floor, I didn't want to leave it open all night. The lock on the window was broken so it didnt' lock. There were no towels in the room so I had to find someone to give me some towels. The doors use keys which are hard to use and turn, especially if you have arthritis. No breakfast. Only an old coffee pot in the lobby. The rooms and hallways were dirty and filled with pieces of paper and dirt. it looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in months. I was afraid to take off my shoes.

We stayed over the July 4th weekend and overall it was a good stay. The motel is a bit dated and the fixtures kind of shows. But the room was very spacious and the beds are clean and comfortable. If they can refurbish the hotel it can be even better. Major marine cruise terminal was right across the road, so it was convenient not to drive.

They provided us with some nice clean rooms. They were helpful people! It was easily located near the marina wich made it nice for our fishing charter. The parking lot was kept clean also. They had coffee available to us even if was very early in the morning.

We stayed in the Queen Suite. The room is a bit dated -but was large and the Jacuzzi tub worked-so those were pluses. Also, kudos to the people who launder the linens. They smelled fantastic. We stayed for 3 nights and overall it was a great stay.

The Marina Motel's ADA room

My family group of five adults, including one who was confined to a wheelchair, stayed at the Marina Motel in July 2023 for two nights. Having read many reviews before arriving we expected and found it to be a basic, but comfortable and clean place to stay. Three of our group stayed in the ADA room which, while plain, had "the best shower and best floors" of the three lodgings we used on our 10 day trip, the two others being a Springhill Suites (Marriott) in Anchorage and an Embassy Suites (Hyatt) in Seattle. Of the three, the Marina was the only one with a really easy to enter ADA shower and the only one with good skid-proof and "easy-to-push- a- wheelchair- across" floors. It's also worth noting that the Marina's location was perfect for getting a wheelchair to the train depot and the Major Marine boat tours, which were both just across the street and could be accessed via an underpass so you didn't have to cross the highway (although there were a few bumps along the way). That same underpass led you into Seward itself and we were able to use the ADA accessible free shuttle to get around town, though sometimes with a wait while the driver remembered how to work the lift. We did have a few problems with our rooms but Matthew in the front office did his best to handle them and in the end we were satisfied. ADA rooms aren't easy to come by in Seward and especially ones that can sleep three people, and we were very happy to find this one.
