Nice, clean, updated. Free breakfast was nice considering it was prepackaged due to end of COVID resurgence of travelers. Very near to the train depot, so good location for train travelers, however, I’m pretty sure I heard the train whistle in the middle of the night, but it wasn’t too loud. Bed & pillows were comfy. Very nice staff. Next to the Ulu Factory.

Not good. Wished we could get a refund

My family and I traveled to Anchorage and stayed at the Comfort Inn. We were told we would get transport from the airport to the Inn but they said they didn’t have anyone to get us and to take a cab and they would pay the bill. They did not have reliable transportation services when we were told there would be. The breakfast food was grab and go. We were told it would be a full continental breakfast. On the way back, we had a room booked there and we walked in and there was only one bed when we had reserved a room for 3 people, the room smelled like fish and it did not seem clean. They gave us a rollaway bed because they didn’t have any extra rooms. Not ideal. Positives: Super close to the train station. Easy walk from inn to train station.

I would NOT recommend this hotel. The only thing that is a plus is that it is close to the railroad if you plan on taking the Alaskan railroad. Because the weather was in the 60’s during our stay, I had originally opened the window in our room. Within a short amount of time I ended up shutting it because of the traffic noise from the nearby highway as well as the train horns. Secondly, were told that the hotel had a shuttle service to take us back and forth to the airport. After spending $30 on a taxi to get to the hotel, we were told that the shuttle was “broken” . Another issue is that they offer free breakfast. We were told that they were “out of stock” on many items. Breakfast ended up consisting of microwave burritos and instant oatmeal (neither of which were edible) . Lastly, the hotel was obviously extremely short-staffed. When the Alaskan railroad dropped several people off in Anchorage, there was only ONE person at the front desk to check people in. The line was out the door. In the morning there was one employee in charge of the front desk for check ins and check outs as well as running the breakfast. While she was doing the best that she could there was no way that she could keep up with everything going on. This hotel was booked by our travel agent otherwise I would NOT stay here

Close to train station - but the room rate was $$$!

We spent 2 weeks self-touring the Alaskan mainland before catching a cruise in Whittier, AK. So first off, kudos to a great staff, especially the courtesy van driver. I returned the rental car at Ted Stevens to coordinate with a guest pickup. He then stopped during the trip back so I could get a pizza for dinner. The next morning the hotel shuttled us over to the train station. They have handling the cruise ship crowds down to a science. Our room was rather basic but The Wife managed a couple loads of laundry while II was being shuttled around town. My only criticism is the room rate-- $300+ for what would be a $75-100 budget room down south (in, say, Minnesota). But again, that's the start of Alaska's tourist season.

great place for our stay for the Iditarod

The hotel was under updates and it will look nice when complete. The staff was very nice and helpful and the van driver took us up the hill so we could go to town. Daryl took us once and couldn't wait to take us to a surprise in town. A moose was on a side street and we got it see it. Thank you for that, it was amazing to see him. The Ice Sculptures were right out our hotel and it helped having the food trucks there for eats. The gal running the breakfast feast was amazing. I can bet people complained to her that this is out and there isn't anymore of that. Well, I can't keep up wtih 4 or 5 of us for a meal and she handled all the guests staying. If you told her something was empty she got on it right away. In the evening, the front desk baked some yummy cookies for the guests. And always iced water and lemon water at the front door. We will totally stay there again. Oh and, the shuttle from the airport was great and what made us pick the Comfort Inn at Ships Creek. A very nice place to stay while you visit Anchorage.
