We stayed at the lodge. It was clean and the staff were friendly. The highlight of the trip was the full day canyon tour that we scheduled earlier through the lodge. It was an amazing off-road tour with a very knowledgeable Navajo guide that knows the in and out of the canyon. It is a better tour than the mesa verde for the cliff dwelling!

Spacious rooms in a lovely historical setting near Canyon de Chelly.

The spacious rooms in a lovely, shady setting make this a great value when visiting the amazing Canyon de Chelly. We were so comfortable we decided to stay an extra day and night! The lodge is located just minutes from the Visitor Center and start of the scenic canyon drives so location couldn't be better. A good value and great way to support the Navajo Nation.

Outdated, dirty hotel

We wanted to give this local hotel a chance despite reading some negative reviews. We regret this decision. This “lodge” was a step down from a Motel 6. The room was outdated and dirty. We found three bugs in the room upon arrival. The cafeteria food was horrible. We also booked a tour and on arrival, we were told that there was an age limit for children that was never disclosed to us. The supervisor initially denied our refund request until we finally were able to convey to her that we booked the tour via phone and were not advised of this policy. We rebooked with a different tour company called Beauty Way and had a much more professional experience. We would recommend staying at the Holiday Inn and to avoid this place.

This is a very sweet little lodge right at the mouth of the canyon. It is rustic but well kept and clean. All rooms are motel style in that they open to the outside and you can park nearby. There are nicely kept grassy areas with benches and the cafeteria serves decent food including salads—pro tip: ask for the homemade tortilla, which is really large and not on the menu. We took the four-hour tour down into the canyon and loved it. Our guide, Fernando, was warm, funny, and very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend as probably the best option amongst all the hotels in the area.

Great rooms but...

Stayed here tonight. Checked in before going on a 4 hr guided tour of the canyon. Was told we would be back in time for dinner. Restaurant open until 2045hrs. Arrived back at 2010hrs. Went to restaurant but it was shut as there was only one wairltress. Shame really. Rooms are great though. See photos.
