Nice Hotel In The Heart of Downtown

Easy parking, in and out. Friendly staff that might not always be at the front desk but are generally on site and can be reached easily by phone. Place is immaculate. Could always use a few more towel racks like most hotels! Nice little kitchenette to make your own coffee, etc. I went during shoulder season so the restaurant was not open.
The view from even from the best rooms look over the water but alas there's a neighboring house with yard 'stuff' around.
It's great to stay downtown where one can choose from a multitude of local restaurants. There's quite a variety. The Cookery is almost next door (some torn down lot in between) and is at the top of the food game. One can easily walk and visit some thrift shops (very cute), rent a bike, and continue on along the water to board a tour of Resurrection Bay.
This place was recommended to me by a friend who stayed several years ago and I'm glad I stayed here too.

Better yet, Yolanda and her staff gave us a warm welcome and were super friendly with both our kiddos. We walked to nearby restaurants and to the sealife center, which made the whole experience worthwhile, even as local Alaskan’s! I got to experience a side of Seward that I never did before while camping here.

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and welcoming. They offered great recommendations for local dining and activities, and gave some local tips about where to go exploring outdoors. The historic hotel is conveniently located right downtown, and the rooms were immaculately clean, comfortable, and the room we stayed in offered some of the best views in Seward. We will definitely be staying at Hotel Seward the next time we come through town. highly recommend!

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

Worst surprise is that it had NO BATHROOM. There was a communal bathroom down the hallway. Had to catch early cruise and could not be worried about others occupying the communal bathroom. The front desk "upgraded" my room to one with bathroom. Charged me OUTRAGEOUS $151. That is total $430. While at front desk, I saw on their website same room with bathroom for $323 for SAME night. When I complained, they said there was no manager there and gave me his email. I emailed manager several times, and of course he never replied. THIS PLACE IS A TOTAL RIPOFF. Others have said the same.
