This was great. In 2009 while visiting Seward, we briefly stopped in at Hotel Seward to see the decor. This time, we wanted to stay and that we did for two nights. We were very welcomed by reception staff Shamarie and later, Peachy. We had a fantastic room #331 with windows overlooking the distant mountains. I think there were three front windows--all opened and were screened. The room was spacious with frig and microwave. And ample sitting areas. We were very pleased. Suggestion--take some time to look about this historic hotel with old photos, news articles and stuffed animals here and there. And check out the fossils surrounding the fireplace.

Worst Hotel Experience Imaginable - I booked a Deluxe Queen room through American Express Travel. The small, dingy room Hotel Seward gave me....DID NOT HAVE A BATHROOM. The front desk acted like that wasn't a big a deal and insisted "that's what I booked" (it wasn't). They refused to change my room and refused a refund. After checking in to another hotel, I looked at my records. The Deluxe Queen room I booked most assuredly had a bathroom. I collected my confirmation and receipt and showed it to Hotel Seward. Despite the facts, they again refused to offer a refund and suggested I send an e-mail to "management". It's now been two weeks and 3 e-mails later and they have not so much as replied (I confirmed verbally the e-mails were received). I'm a seasoned traveler with 100's of hotel stays. This is by far the worst service I've experienced. Stay far away.

First, the context. Seward is a small town, and people come for the scenery and activities, not a plush, big city hotel. Rooms are smallish, but clean and comfortable. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the wonderful sea-life center and several restaurants. The hotel offers a shuttle, and the wonderful driver is happy to take you for short trips to the market or car rental agency, as long as he isn't dealing with a train arrival. Very nice.

Top notch!

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Seward in the summer of 2023. It is a small, charming and very clean hotel in the center of Seward. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. My husband has Parkinson’s Disease. When he became ill, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were ok. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again without hesitation!

This historic hotel is designed as their name alludes to. It's a great location to walk a block or two to restaurants, bars, the waterfront, etc. We chose a room with a private bathroom. The rooms are pretty small and the space in the bathroom limited, but we made do utilizing the space for all our luggage. We enjoyed the small restaurant and bar on site, and the bartender was 5 stars.. a sweet gal from Pennsylvania now residing in AK and expecting her first baby...Best wishes!
