Great resort...if it doesn't rain the entire time!

We enjoyed our stay at McKinley Lodge other than the rain. It rained almost the entire time. Mt. McKinley/Denali wasn't visible the entire time as it was cloud covered. We did enjoy the aurora borealis show that they have in the theater. That worked out great because we didn't get the see the aurora borealis when we were in Fairbanks due to rain. We had a great time playing cards with our friends in the guest services building.

We went here for one night as part of a Princess Cruise and Land Tour. Very nice large lodge in the Alaska Wilderness. We ate at the 20320 Restaurant and our waiter was friendly and the food was good. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We took a horse drawn covered Wagon ride with D & S wagon rides and really enjoyed it. Steve and his wife were so friendly and nice. Loved the smores, reindeer and panning for gold. We also saw a show at the lodge theatre showing a collection of panoramic photos of the northern lights taken over a persons lifetime. Fantastic! We also saw a Park Ranger talk about bears. Very informational. Beautiful scenery and grounds. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Building we stayed in was not up to Princess standards, walls dirty and damaged, laundry facilities not working. When we got to our room after we were told it was ready, we find dirty bath water still standing in the tub, we had to search 3 other buildings for working, uncrowded laundry, there is no "constant" in their laundry pay system. Different hotels have different systems from the cruise ships, apps, tokens, change

Unprofessional untrustworthy Lodge management

We had an extremely disappointing experience with this Lodge. On the morning of our arrival, we were informed that our reservation had been canceled due to a fire. However, when we arrived at the property, we noticed many other guests still checking in. It quickly became clear that the manager had lied to us, which was both frustrating and alarming. The manager was extremely rude and refused to offer any explanation as to why our booking was canceled while others were not. There was no transparency about the criteria they used, and they showed absolutely no empathy or professionalism in handling the situation. They acted dismissively, completely disregarding the inconvenience and stress they caused us. This lack of courtesy and the unprofessional management left a sour taste in our mouths. We felt disrespected and let down by a team that should be focused on hospitality. I would strongly advise against booking a stay at this Lodge—there are much better options where guest satisfaction and honesty are actually valued. Avoid this place if you want a pleasant and stress-free experience.

This place is in the middle of nowhere and a good distance from anything. It didn’t help that they lost power when we arrived. There were several 100 additional guest that arrived after us. If you’ll do some searching you’ll find this happens quite a bit over the past 10 years. They have no backup generator. They’ll make salmon patties on the grill and some rice and a chicken breast and charge $15. Many have commented they have stayed overnight with no power and Princess offered no adjustment to their bill. Good luck if you’re staying there
