The most beautiful view of any hotel--overlooking the Harbor.

We were treated like king and queen by the wonderful staff. The hotel was perfect with terrific views of the Harbor. We ate lobster every day:) There is a terrific shuttle that picks you up (runs every 15 minutes) and takes you down the hill into the very quaint downtown area. Wonderful shopping and sightseeing in the national park was the top of our list of fun things. We can't wait to return to this 1st class hotel, we thought we were at the WALDORF:) PS--we did stay at the Waldorf many years ago as well, but this Hampton Inn was one of our favorite stays anywhere!

I've stayed at several Hampton Inn's and this was by far, the BEST stay I've ever had. Seamless check-in, spotlessly clean room with the most comfortable bed, and daily housekeeping services. The breakfast buffet was attended to by friendly and helpful staff that kept items stocked and fresh. We had a room with a view of the pool and the beautiful fall leaves along the hills. When I return for another fall leaf-peeping visit, I will most definitely choose this hotel again.

I feel foolish booking this hotel. I booked an "ocean view" room shown on the website photos. We arrived and were given room 200 with a view of trees out the one window and the parking lot out the other. Yes, you could partially see the water but not like the photos on the website. In addition, the website lead us to believe we could walk into town. No - unless you want to walk on a dark road, and uphill for a mile on the return. The front desk advised against it. So we paid $10-12 for parking each evening in town. We paid $607.81 a day for 3 days at this location. I look on the website today and the price for a room is $372.80. Our price was outrageous. It was a regular Hampton Inn room and breakfast. Nothing out of the ordinary. Hotel staff are good so that's why a 2 rating instead of a 1. Would not recommend. There are many hotels in town that are actually on the water and much cheaper.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights for our vacation. Hotel is just a mile away from the harbor and few miles from Acadia national park / Cadillac mountain. Hotel itself is very well maintained and has good decor. Rooms are quite spacious. Most importantly front desk as well as other staff members too are very friendly and helpful.

This hotel is seasonal with friendly international staff. A bit of a walk to heart of Bar Harbor; the free transit was already closed for the season. Our favorite lobster place closes next week so watch dates when making plans in October for seasonal closures… some businesses already closed which was interesting with all the current visitors . Bar Harbor was cute and worth checking out. You see mountains one direction on Main, and water the other direction. Don’t forget the low tide sand bar hike…we ran out of time! There is a coin/quarter change machine for $1, $5, $10 and $20 for nice large washer/dryers (3 each and busy)… $3 wash $3 dry….2nd floor…use high so laundry dries….Basic room essentials and large fridge and freezer combo, clean, safe, and very nice and updated common areas. We enjoyed relaxing indoor pool and jacuzzi both nights. Breakfast was great… enjoyed daily variety of individually wrapped grab and go pastries at 7am…. Typically one with blueberries. Chopped pico for Hampton omelette s a nice plus, waffles, Chobani yogurt. Easy and fast access to Acadia. Price is expensive and varies a great deal apparently on demand….BUT I suggest not coming into town without a reservation… mostly “No Vacancy” signs abound.
