The Good, the Bad, the Unforgiveable
We have previously stayed in this hotel, although it has been awhile because of Covid. The hotel has always been comfortable and clean.
During our one night stay this time, the Pandemic was still going strong in Montana, especially in Kalispell. My husband and I have both been fully vaccinated.
No masks anywhere to be seen on any of the employees or guests.
We were surprised that there was a Managers Reception offered the evening we checked in and planned on attending.
The menu was BLTs. The bacon was precooked and lettuce, tomato, cheese, bread and condiments were offered along with individual bags of chips. The food was offered buffet style, everyone reaching into the bread bag with their hands, and opening each of the trays. No hand cleaning happening.
Breakfast was plentiful with many options of pre-packaged items along with the normal hot items. The woman replenishing the food and coffee was doing a great job keeping up with the crowd. Although, she was unmasked.
During our stay, we had an incident occur and talked to the Front desk after we checked out. After returning to the hotel to check on the problem, there was no one at the front desk for some time. When someone did arrive we discussed our issue and asked that the General Manager please give us a call. That call never arrived.
The rating we gave was because it seems that everything was great here, but there is a lack of general concern among Management.

Not what is was
On my final bill, there was a charge for $5 housekeeping gratuity for each day. I always leave cash for housekeeping because they deserve it. It is a hard job. But, the staff never mentioned that a gratuity would be added automatically. Be aware of this. Also, the front staff were barely capable and the general areas were not as clean as in the past. Is this part of the employee shortage?

Great Location and Comfortable Accomodations
I stayed 3 nights at the Holiday Inn Express Kalispell while I explored nearby Glacier National Park. The hotel is located only 1 hour from the west entrance to Glacier. The proximity allowed me to arrive at the park early spend more time hiking and less time driving. There are many great restaurants and stores around which further reduced my need to drive long distances. The hot breakfasts each morning were excellent with many great options to choose from. The room itself was clean and basic which is exactly what I needed. The bed was very comfortable and allowed me to get a good night’s rest each night. There was some noise at times from rooms around, but generally it was brief and not terribly disruptive. I will certainly consider this hotel again on future trips to the area.

Excellent hotel !
We stayed here when we took our trip to Glacier, we had originally booked a stay at a local guest ranch and had to leave because the beds were horrible! Thank goodness we could get in the holiday inn express! The beds were excellent ! The rooms were clean the staff was nice ! I would stay here again !

The breakfast that you get is really good. they have a variety of packaged snacks as well as the standard hot items. The staff who work the breakfast are very attentive and friendly.
They had a managers reception 2 of the nights we were there - I was not aware of this until that evening - after we already ate. I wish they would have told us this at check in
