Hot Pools were fun, but the rest...
We paid quite a bit for a room. As expected, in the town of Banff. The bath tub had specks of dried brown matter of some sort. The room was ok otherwise, but not as expected. It felt like everything needed some updating, the front desk staff were ok but not extremely welcoming. The best part was the hot pools, which were a cool concept. I wish there was some limiting of people, as it got crowded QUICK and we only enjoyed it for 10 minutes as we were not comfortable with how many people were coming in.
I would recommend another hotel in town, prices are pretty comparable.

Nothing has changed in 9 years. . . not necessarily a good thing.
So we stayed at the Fox Hotel on our honeymoon 9 years ago and loved it. Naturally we booked it again hoping for a great experience. They were very sweet and upgraded our room from Mountain View King Suite to Mountain View Loft Suite because it was our anniversary, HOWEVER we wish they hadn't . In the lofts, the A/C is downstairs and your bed is upstairs. If you do take a loft suite, crank the AC and leave it on when you aren't there to cool it down. The decor was EXACTLY the same as 9 years ago, time for some updates! King beds are super comfy though and the view was great. Bathrooms are tiny. Continental breakfast was mediocre, mostly pastries with a cold boiled egg as the only protein. We did enjoy drinks on the patio at Chile's downstairs. Free underground parking and they will give you a free bus pass to go anywhere, saving you from finding parking. I think we'll try another hotel if we return to Banff.

Accommodation not as booked
We booked this hotel from Hotels.com. Pay now or at the hotel. Due to covid we always pick free cancellation n pay at the hotel so will not tided up the money and wait for 2 to 3 weeks to get our money back. So we had an issue with this Fox hotel n suits at Banff because we booked a queen bed but went to bed that night and found out it was a double bed. Double bed is 54” and queen bed is 60”. Next morning we measured the bed with my husband’s 12” shoe n was found out that bed only 54” and 6” short. When we check out n told the front desk n he insisted it is a queen bed. We have to leave n lots of driving n Banff was our first stop. That night we contacted hotels.com n was told that it was a post paid booking we have to deal with The Fox Hotel. That means hotels.com washed their hands. From this we learned a lesson that if we pay hotels.com directly n they will look after us n compensate us. We paid at the hotel Today we still can’t get hold of The Fox. Hotels.com never indicated the options clearly for their customers to choose. This fall we planned to travel to Europe, Asia and Iceland so all the hotels were booked and to be paid at the hotels. Now second thoughts that we have to change all the bookings otherwise if we have any issues and we will not be able to stay behind and solve all the issues during our holidays

Not a good value for a very small and dark suite
This hotel is overpriced for what you get. Tiny two bedroom, which is essentially two one bedrooms squished together was VERY dark and lacked any privacy as the windows face inward to a round about court yard that has a high level of people traffic. If they exist, request a room that faces away from the inner courtyard so you can see some sunshine and attain a modicum of privacy.
Also, the complementary breakfast is extremely poor, essentially toast and some chopped melons. No oatmeal, eggs or proteins for the carnivore??????!!!
Anyway, Banff is amazing but there are way better options such as Moose lodge (which we also stayed at) which has amazing suites with fireplaces, full kitchen and sunlit mountain views. Far more sq footage as well.
Also, the Moose is a closer walk to Banff amenities if that’s important.
Also, the elevator was broken for our stay but the fact it was not fixed is telling of management. They said the company who fixes the elevator was located in Calgary... ok, so, get it fixed. And this was not a weekend??
Again, for North of $500 a night there are far better accommodations.

This is a nice hotel but spectacular. We got a luxury suite that was 2 levels which was super cute but it didn’t work for our 4 yr old and dog. This was not the hotels fault cause we booked it. The beds are small and the sheets were stained as well as the pillow cases. The bathroom was nice but the paint was peeling on the ceiling.
The hot tub was quite unique and was nice to soak in.
Chills in the hotel was awesome! The patio is dog friendly so it helped with our family. They offered free continental breakfast with the room in chilies and it was good.
This hotel was a little walk from the main shopping area but we didn’t mind the walk.
For the money I don’t know if I would come back but I’m glad we got to experience it.
