Very cozy hotel with a friendly staff and decent size rooms. Excellent location for access to Yellowstone. It's a great time of year to be there right before winter hits and the park roads close on November 1. I think the first week in October Or late September is preferred. I highly recommend this hotel.

My son and I stayed for 4 nights (Sept 23-Sept 26) and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is about 20 miles from the actual entrance to Yellowstone National Park. While checking in I learned [overheard a guest who was checking out] that I would have saved approximately 30% had I booked through the hotel's web site [stay 3 but only pay for 2 nights] instead of using National Park Reservations, a third-party reservation source whose fees are not particularly inexpensive. Jodi, working the front desk, offered me the same rate which saved roughly a hundred dollars. The hotel staff is excellent for advice on hotel and things to do. Please check out the Discovery Center for wolves and grizzly bears about a mile away. Great for young children. They also have otters at that center, I had scheduled a tour for the upper loop of Yellowstone (including part of Lamar Valley) through Viator weeks before departure for Saturday morning. Yellowstone Hiking Guides was supposed to be at the hotel at 6 AM for pick up. No one showed up. I learned later that the tour was cancelled. An email had been sent the day AFTER I left for the trip. There was no text. Really disappointed with Viator as they have a good rating. Jodi, the hotel representative, saved the day. She made one or two calls and my son and I were able to take the tour for roughly 40% less using Yellowstone Alpen Guides (Doug was a great guide). Booked another tour with them Sunday. Paul was also good but go with Doug if you have a chance. Folks at another hotel were left on the hook as they received little notice of cancellation and ended up joining us. By staying at the Three Bears Lodge we were given breakfast coupons ($8 each daily) at the restaurant next door. The service there was good as well as the breakfast. The room itself was fine. Quiet and comfortable. All front desk staff nice and helpful, particularly Jodi.

We stayed in the motel and it served us well. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and a surprise since our confirmation email said the restaurant was closed during our stay. Having three beds so that everyone had their own bed after an exhausting day in the park was such a blessing!

Was very impressed with this fine little motel. Stayed in the lodge. Nice big room. Everything was perfect. Close to downtown. It has great history and is very well appointed. No elevator so would recommend you get a ground floor room. We thought this motel was a very good value for this area.

We had a nice stay at this hotel. It was clean and well kept. The rooms aren't fancy but they service as a good sleeping place after hiking all day. The location to the park is great! I would stay there again in a heartbeat. The breakfast was good and fast. Everyone was pleasant to talk with. Thumbs up for me!
