A large part of Sequoia and adjoining Kings Canyon NP were still closed when we were there but we still enjoyed our week. We traveled with one adult daughter and shared a 2-bedroom unit. The kitchen had dishes and pots and pans so we bought groceries and saved a bunch of money!
The property is right by the Kaweah River so we spent several evenings relaxing riverside after supper, enjoying the rushing water and beautiful sunset.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and recommended several hiking trails including some that weren't too challenging for the elders among us!

Stayed here 31 years ago for our Anniversary and returned this April 30 and May 1st to celebrate our 35th year. Many upgrades over the years. Fresh paint, new cork flooring, upgraded windows, fresh bedding and comfortable. Nice picinic areas and pool. Bring insect repellent as mosquitoes are everywhere. Abundant game's and selection of dvd movies to choose to watch. Small microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker with grinder in room # 5. Excellent for listening and viewing the rivers. Gatewat restaurant next door provides breakfast, lunch and dinner if you prefer. Sequoia park is only open to Hospital Rock right now April 30 - May 2nd 2023. Kings Canyon has more areas to explore so please check what would be best for you. All in all. We look forward to returning to the Buckeye and the Sierra foothills.

Located just next to the river in quite spectacular surroundings. Incredibly easy to access the national park and surrounding areas. Rooms are not of a modern chain hotel standard - but that should not put you off (and your loss if it does). Nice to have access to a clean pool, use of fridge & coffee facilities in the room and bonus points for the hotels selection of board games to borrow!
Would recommend to anyone visiting Sequoia.

The room was clean and well stocked. Back door opened to our own patio. Woke up to the sounds of nature and a roaring river. Will definitely be back soon. Thank you so very much for one of the most memorable weekends. 💛

Fabulous!

Our room was cozy and VERY clean and included a mini fridge and microwave - but the views and the grounds were spectacular! Plus, the staff is friendly and very helpful. We visited the week after Thanksgiving and the fall foliage was breathtaking and the sound of the river was soothing. There's fine dining at the Gateway Restaurant next door, family-style pizza at Pizza Factory just down the street which is next door to the well-stocked Village Market. Plus we had fabulous coffee at Kaweah Coffee Roasters. I highly recommend the Buckeye Tree Lodge.
