Stepping into a storybook

Staying here was like stepping into a storybook, or a Hallmark movie. Right on the river with an incredible restaurant/ bar next door, we felt immediately in vacation mode. The staff seemed to genuinely care, and the small-town-feel was palpable. I left behind a large specialty pillow, and they worked with me to promptly mail it back at well under my cost parameters. I am so grateful for my time here!

Highly Recommend

We stayed at Buckeye Tree Lodge & Cabins for two nights in October. We had a lovely little cabin in a fantastic location just at the Sequioa National Park entrance. The main thing we'd like to call out is the fantastic service we received, so friendly and helpful. We had a question in relation to the shower and one of the team called down to us late in the evening to help us resolve it. we really appreciated the help.

Very small but sufficient lodging just outside Sequoia Park entrance. It works. However, don’t expect to stay “connected” as there is no Internet except the lodge wifi and there are only a couple of plugs for your electronics. The bathroom is tiny so don’t bring a lot of stuff- but it is clean and the back door leads out to private Adirondack chairs overlooking the river. It is very peaceful so bring wine and some cheese from the market one mile back down the road. You can also walk next door to a great restaurant and get a 10 per cent discount for being a guest here. We recommend it for simple pleasure more interested in nature.

Excellent location, friendly staff, sleep not so good

Overall, Buckeye Lodge is a great home base for visiting Sequoia National Park. The staff is extremely friendly and the grounds are lovely. There are 2 swimming pools for guests to enjoy. Our cabin (Forest) had a full kitchen, and it appears that the bathroom had been recently remodeled. It was very modern and clean. I'm taking away one star because Forest was not conducive to great sleep. It is on the bottom level of an upstairs/downstairs duplex, and there is little to no soundproofing between the two levels. We could hear each footfall and thump that the guests above made. Our sleep schedule, therefore, was tied to their's, and they were up late each night! I would recommend staying in a different cabin or room if you're a light sleeper like I am. The Gateway restaurant across the street was wonderful: delicious food and outstanding service. Guests at Buckeye get a small discount for eating there, and I would highly recommend it.

Attentive service when requested, but never pushy. Remote check-in & check-out works great. Wonderful quiet & peaceful hours spent by the riverside, clean & comfortable room, and notably odor-free. Wow! This is a superb get-a-way place.
