The wine tasting tour that originates at The Lodge was fantastic. Our guide, Luke, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made spot-on recommendations for the wineries that interested us. This is an experience for anyone interested in experiencing the wine culture in this area. Make your reservations, show up, and have a fantastic time.

We had a very comfortable room with a wonderful balcony view of the outdoor activities and Lake Erie! The breakfast was delicious and we especially enjoyed the made-to-order omelet station! The server, Kim, was very friendly and attentive! The front desk was also super nice! It was an awesome stay as we enjoyed all of the gorgeous new wineries in the area and we had a nice drive along the lake up to Ashtabula as well. We will definitely come back.

Terrible experience with bar staff after wine tour

We had a group doing the wine tour for a birthday. When we got back to the hotel we had plans to eat dinner and grab drinks at the bar in the hotel until close. The entire point of a wine tour and staying at the hotel is not to worry about driving anywhere and being able to stay safe while having some drinks. Sadly one of our group members was denied a beer at the bar and cut off immediately upon entering the bar. He had done nothing to show he was intoxicated and shouldn’t be allowed to consume alcohol. We were told that he stumbled coming into the hotel from the bus and had slurred his speech. In long conversations with him, I never observed anything like this. He had his child and wife with him for dinner, so it was very embarrassing for him in front of his child, especially when there were several people there far more intoxicated than him still being served. I understand needing to make sure people don’t overindulge, but a place that advertises drink and come stay here, should at least have valid reasons for cutting someone off. I also found it funny that we all went to the hot tub when he was kicked out which is highly dangerous for someone who they deemed was clearly intoxicated and they had no issues with that as they saw us all in suits going there. That was a lot of money spent from all of us to have our evening ruined by awkwardness and one member not being allowed to continue in the fun of the evening. I know that we weren’t the only ones with someone in our large party cut off so keep that in mind when deciding if it is worth it to pay all this money to drink responsibly and then be prevented from even doing that. Also, we are all in our 40’s plus so this was not a bunch of young people going out and getting trashed.

very quite

The room was very clean. Queen bed was comfy. Kitchen utensils, dish ware and pots and pan were fully stocked. No salt and pepper and no coffee filters. The coffee pot, in our room, takes flat bottom filters, like a Mr coffee. No hot tub, no heated pool, no fire pit. Takes an hour to get anywhere Would not go back but not dissatisfied with our stay. Nice to try new places
