Loved, loved this place. Perfect location. Super clean, wonderful pressed sheets, great shower and on top of all of that…they have 2 yellow labs and a real wood fireplace in the foyer! I mean, COME ON! Staff was friendly and helpful…Jennifer especially went out of her way to help us with all kinds of things! Don’t hesitate to book a room! Our room had a balcony that overlooked the bay…with a screen door so you can feel the breeze! Every little touch was actually perfect…down to even the smell of the lobby upon coming in!

Definitely our go-to hotel in Bar Harbor for the future. Having been in Bar Harbor several times before, I always wondered what hotel that was with the balconies overlooking the harbor. Fortunately, I figured it out and was thrilled with the West Street Hotel. The staff is wonderful, including Fin, the dog, who is a member at the front desk. Check in was a breeze, the room is lovely, the view spectacular. Also great is the pantry with water, fruit, and coffee/espresso offerings. The location cannot be beat; the world revolves around the harbor and it is great to be in the middle of the action. Parking was right at the hotel, also terrific. The rooftop pool was an added bonus. Two little "complaints" - the espresso machine did not work as often as it did work and cushions for the balcony chairs would be greatly appreciated.

Too Many Flaws for the Price Point

The location of this hotel cannot be beat. With a water-side view and balcony it was a charming place to stay. Unfortunately, we would not return to this hotel simply for the noise component, though there were a few other cons as well. Noise came from the street, through the walls, and in the hallway. Doors slammed at all hours, we could hear conversations through the wall, and the cleaning staff who did a wonderful job also enjoy singing while they work. I learned the lyrics to several songs while trying to relax in my room as they worked in the hallway and other rooms. I liked the idea of coffee options in the hallway of each floor initially, but it just became a nuisance to put on clothes or a robe in the morning to get my first cup of joe. Having coffee options in the room seems pretty standard at most hotels these days and doesn't feel unreasonable of an ask at this hotels price point. And the supply of drinking water was extremely appreciated but having stayed at other more eco-friendly places, I couldn't believe they didn't have a water machine to help offset the # of bottles of Poland Springs we went through. I wasted more plastic in our 4 days at this hotel than I did the entire rest of our 2 week trip. The overall value just wasn't there for us with this hotel and we would likely try one of the inns instead on our next trip to BH.

I only had time to stay for one night, but I definitely would love to go back for a longer stay next time! The view of the harbor and the ocean was incredible, I could never get tired of sitting out on the deck and watching the boats and the street performers. The room was very, very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Everyone at check-in and checkout was super nice, and overall, the experience was five star!

This hotel is amazing! I have been to a bunch of hotels and this is number 1 for sure! AMAZING staff who welcome you every time you come in! Rooms are extremely clean and comfortable! In your hallway you will have something called refreshment pantry! ITS AMAZING! There is coffee, dog treats, board games, fruit, and ice! We enjoyed stopping by every morning to grab an apple and a cup of coffee! There is a pub connected to the hotel which is excellent and you could order room service from! I highly recommend the pretzel! Also get greeted by a kind lovely dog named Finn! He is very respectful and adorable! We loved our experience at the West Street Hotel and we will definitely be returning
